Sorry I was so Crabby

Hello The Rabbit Hole Designs fans!  Maria here with you and I am back today to share another clean and simple card ("CAS"), showcasing the ever-classy, Sofishticated Stamp set.

Here's how I made the card:
  • stamp the crab image on some Neenah classic crest solar white card stock and color him in with alcohol markers (or any medium of your choice).
  • use some painter's tape to mask the spaces between the crab.
  • use the waves stencil with the make-up brush to color in some waves (avoiding the crab image if at all possible).  The ink that I used here is so light that I didn't really have to mask the image itself.

  • die-cut the "sorry" sentiment using a die from my stash.  Adhere this piece with some liquid adhesive
  • stamp the sentiment "I was so crabby" using Versafine Onyx black in and the card is all finished.  Simple and classy!

Here's a little close-up:

I have been really loving some clean and simple designs lately!  I hope you do as well.  If you are looking for further details about my project including supplies used, I would be so grateful if you can stop by my blog today at:

So-fishticated Stamp Set

Hi there, Martha Lucia with  you today!
I’m back highlighting the So-fishticated stamp set, one of my favorites sets for this season.

The base and second layers of the card are whisper white card stock. I just cut the second layer a little small.

Directions:
1. Cut the card base using whisper white card stock. The size of my card is 4-1/4" x 11" with score in 5-1/2".
2. Cut the second layer. The size that I used is 4"x5-1/4".
3. Splatter the second layer with Fireworks. I used the colors Bahama Blue and Paris Dusk. If you are not familiar with the Fireworks, they are the same quality of the memento ink but liquid and with shimmer touch.
4. Let the paper dry or speed the process with a heat tool.
5. Stamp the sea horse included on the Sofishticated stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
6. Color the image with Alcohol Markers and fussy cut it with the scissors.
7. Cut a circle border using Violet /Gold Glossy Rinea Foiled Paper.
8. Paste the circle over the sprayed area and stamp a sentiment inside of the border with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
9. Paste the main image using double sided foam tape.
10. Finalize the decoration adding some aqua sequins.

Under the Sea- With Katie

Happy Tuesday!  Always happy to be here on The Rabbit Hole Designs blog AND thrilled when you visit.  I have something a little....fishy for you today. ;)

Before we get started, a little octopus joke for you- Q: Who held the baby octopus for a ransom?  I will let you ponder that, the answer is at the bottom of this post. 🐙

This card is so fun because it is a circle swing card.  I love the paper backdrop and the vegetation dies.  The paper has dogfish on it and dogfish eat octupus, so I like to imagine she is hiding out until she get's enough caffeine in her system.

Here is how I made it:
  • First I cut the card base, which is a Circle Swing Die from Crafter's Companion.  Next, I cut the DP to fit.
  • After I had the base I die cut the seaweed and coral using IO dies with various greens and orange and placed them on the scene.
  • I stamped the Caffeinated Octopus imaged on Copic friendly paper and colored it.  Then I used my white gel pen to add highlights to the image.
  • I cute the image out using my Scan 'n Cut and used foam squares to place it on my scene.
  • On the reverse side of the circle, I stamped a sentiment (not from this set, from another set in my stash) and the chemical formula for coffee.

The gel pen was perfect around the tentacles because it makes them look like real suckers.  That was NOT an insult, lol.

This card was really fun to make, I love the shape and the grumpy octopus with the sentiment.  A little pick me up for a friend.  I hope you enjoyed it to and I appreciate your visit today.  You are always welcome to visit me at my blog- KB.Stamps

Oh PS. the answer to the joke- A: Squidnappers.  Have a great, caffeinated day!

Coffee & Donuts

Hello crafty friends, it's Amanda from Pear Blossom Press again and today I've got a fun shaped card for you featuring the Caffeinated Unicorn! I don't know about you, but the caffeinated critter series is one of my favorite collections to play with. The unicorn is just too hilarious; she even has little narwhal slippers! I thought she'd pair well with a donut shaped card covered in lots of sprinkles.

I started by stamping and embossing my Caffeinated Unicorn, then coloring it with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut her with my ScanNCut. Using some of the same markers, I colored scraps of white cardstock in coordinating colors. I stamped and embossed caffeine makes me sparkle, then die cut it with a fishtail banner die. I also die cut the word yippee three times, once from the scrap I colored blue. I glued the three layers together, with the blue layer on top. I glued a thin strip of silver glitter paper to the bottom of the fishtail banner.

To make the card, I grabbed my nesting circle dies and found a set that looked like a good size donut and appropriate hole. I used a 4 1/2" circle for the outer cut, and a 1 1/4" circle for the inner cut. I cut a pair of blush colored circles for the card base. I trimmed about 1/8" from the bottom edge of the back circle. Then I lined it up in my Scor Pal and scored 1/2" from the top to form a hinge. I glued the two pieces together at the hinge. The tiny cut across the bottom of the back piece allows the card to stand up when it's open. I sponged on a little brown ink to add shading to the inner and outer edges of the donut. That makes it look like it's been cooked to a golden brown.

For the frosting, I cut a third circle from pink stock and increased the inner die to a 1 1/2" circle, so that some of the center of the blush circles would be visible when stacked. I used scissors to freehand a wavy cut around the outer edge of the pink circle. Then I stamped and embossed it with sprinkles. To add a little more dimension, I sponged on a little pink ink around the inner and outer edges and glued it onto the donut.

To finish the card, I lined everything up and trimmed the fishtail banner to end behind the unicorn's legs. I glued the banner in place and glued the word yippee above it. I popped the Caffeinated Unicorn up with foam tape to give the card a little more dimension. For a final touch, I added shimmer pen to the unicorn's mug and horn. Then, I coated the horn, mug, her eye, and the word yippee with a layer of Diamond Glaze. I think it gives the card just the right amount of sparkle and shine!

Now don't tell anyone, but I've got a little secret to share. Even though I love to make cards, I always draw a blank when it comes to writing the sentiment inside. A card like this doesn't have a lot of room to write a long message and that suits me just fine. If you'd like a bigger area to write inside, you can omit cutting the center holes from the card base. In that case, I'd cut the base from white cardstock and layer on a blush layer and a pink layer onto the top of the card. You might consider adding a white doily to the back of the card, so it looks like a donut on a doily.

So that's my card for today, another fun shaped card. Do you prefer shaped cards or traditional rectangles? Let me know in the comments below. Is your caffeinated critter collection complete? If not, head on over to the shop and fill up your cart today! And don't forget the new release comes out next week! I can't wait to show you what I've been working on with those sets! (Hint, hint, even if you think your caffeinated critter collection is complete, it's probably not ;) See you soon my crafty friend!

Hang In There

Hello The Rabbit Hole Designs fans!  Maria here with you and it's my day to take over the TRHD blog.   For today's project, I am showcasing the We are Family stamp set.

For the past few months, I have been making a lot of very-detailed handmade cards with scenes up the wazoo and I figured sometimes I just need a break from that and create some very simple cards.  After all, less is more, right?!

Here's how I made the card:
  • Stamp the kite image on smooth white card stock and color the images in with Copic markers (or any medium of your choice).
  • Die-cut the image with an electronic die-cutting machine or fussy cut with scissors.  I used my Brother Scan N Cut 2.
  • Cut an A2 size piece of smooth white card stock and use the Kites Embossing folder to dry-emboss the background.
  • Die-cut the "Hang In There" sentiment on some black card stock. Die-cut the same on some fun foam and adhere this piece on the black card stock.
  • Adhere the sentiment on the embossed background.
  • Adhere the kite with some liquid adhesive.
  • Finish the design by using Sakura white gel pen to add some lines and dot to the kite.

Here's a little close-up:

This card is super simple, but I really love how it turned out.  If you are looking for further details about my project including supplies used, I would be so grateful if you can stop by my blog today at:

I hope you like my card and got inspired.  Have an amazing day and happy crafting!

So-Fishticated Nuvo Shimmer Powder Background

Hi, everyone! It's Lynnea Hollendonner and I have a video showing how to create a simple shimmery background with Nuvo Shimmer Powders! I used a heat embossed image from the So-Fishticated stamp set and a resist technique!

How - To

  • Heat emboss jellyfish image from the So-Fishticated stamp set.
  • Apply water and Nuvo Shimmer Powders to build up the color in the background - drying with a heat tool in between layers to prevent muddled colors.

Faux Sand for the Caffeinated Crab with Video

Welcome back to the blog Rabbit Hole fans!
It's Lisa here with you today from Oh So Cute By Lisa
and I have a fun card and video to share with you
that features a new technique I recently learned.
I have a way to turn plain kraft card stock
into faux sand!  It's so easy to do and so much fun!
I wanted to used the Caffeinated Crab on my card today and I thought
that the perfect backdrop for him was some beach sand!
I even filmed a short video to show you how easy the process is.

The card construction is pretty simple.
I stamped and watercolored 3 tired crabs and used my scan n cut to cut them out.
Once I had the crabs ready to go I also cut out 3 seashells to layer behind them.
My background cover die had lots of slits in it which was perfect for
slipping my crabs behind.  I stamped #crabby next to each crab and the card was done!

Here is a closeup of the sand so you can see the detail.

See... easy peasy card construction but the fun part was the sand.
Here is a short video to show you how you can make your own!
You can watch it here or on YouTube.

We are Family by Martha Lucia

Hi there! Martha Lucia here with you.

Today I am featuring the stamp set We are Family from The Rabbit Hole Designs. I created a card full of layers and special details. Take a look at my card:

Let me share with you the steps to create the card:
  1. Cut your card base. I used whisper white card stock of 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2".
  2. Cut the second layer using the Cloud Die. I used the Cloud Die from Kat Scrappiness and I inked a little the die before to pass it through the cutting machine to add more dimension to the layer.
  3. Cut the cloud stitched die created before using a Stitched Scalloped Rectangle.
  4. Stamp the sentiment from the We are Family set using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
  5. Paste the second layer to the card base using double sided foam tape.
  6. Stamp the kite from the stamp set We are Family over whisper white card stock.
  7. Color the stamped kites using alcohol markers and make tiny dots with a white gel pen.
  8. Fussy cut the stamped kites with your scissors.
  9. Cut two clouds from the He is Risen die using whisper white card stock and arrange them over the decorated card base using double sided foam tape.
  10. Paste the stamped images with double sided foam tape and personalize your card adding some sequins.

Thank you for joining me today and let me share the We are Family stamp with you. This set available in The Rabbit Hole Designs.

#deathbeforedecaf Light-Up Card

Hello my crafty friend, Amanda here from Pear Blossom Press. Today I've got a fun new light-up card featuring the Caffeinated Dino! I made it for my husband who roasts his own coffee; and man, is it delicious! But this card has a second reference that he will especially love. When we got married, we ordered a custom wedding band for him that incorporates a ring of dinosaur bone and another ring of meteorite. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little jealous. It's a cool ring. So how perfect is this card for him? Coffee, dinosaurs, and a meteorite! And to top it all off, the meteorite lights up so it looks like a ball of fire flying across the sky! He's going to love it!

So how did I make this card? Well, I'm glad you asked! I've got a video for you showing you the whole process right here...

Wasn't that easy? Have you made a light-up card before? I hope this inspires you to give it a try! And don't forget to hop on over to the shop to pick up a Caffeinated Dino of your own! While you're there, check out the Sofishticated set; it has an anglerfish that would be perfect for a light-up card! If you'd like links to any of the other products I used in today's card, hop on over to my blog for the sister article.

Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think of today's card down below, or find me in the Facebook group; I'm always popping in there. Until next time my friend, stay crafty!

Heave Ho!- with Katie

Happy Monday! With Easter just around the corner I have been busy with bunnies!  This card was inspired by MaryAnn, her bunny flying the kite gave me the inspiration for the bunny to pull string to heave this huge carrot out of the ground.  I assume Ms. Rabbit is planning on having a feast. :)

Here is how I did it:
  • I started by die cutting my background with the scallop frame die.  Next, I used my distress inks and stencil to create the cloud background. I set that aside.
  • I stamped and colored my images using my Copics.  I cut them out using a die cut machine.
  • Next, I went about to create the rest of the scene, die cutting grass, branches and leaves and carefully placed them on the scene using foam tape.
  • I added twine to my carrot and mounted my carrot on the background and then wrapped it around the tree branch and wrapped it around the bunny's hand.  I mounted the bunny with foam tape as well.
  • Lastly, I mounted the entire scene on to my white cardstock base.

She looks pretty happy for someone working so hard to pull that carrot out of the ground.  I would be sweating up a storm!  ;)

This bunny is pretty much the cutest thing EVER!  She is from the Easter Bounty set.
I hope you enjoyed this card and post, I enjoyed making it!  For further details on supplies feel I would be happy for you to visit my blog- KBStamps.

Anniversary Card

MaryAnn, from PaperDreamz here to share a really easy to make card with you that features the images from the
The Rabbit Hole Designs set Love You More

Card Recipe
  • Create a stamped with versamark watermark ink and clear powder heat embossed background on Neenah Classic Crest White 80lb cardstock using the smaller elements from the stamp set "Don't forget to use your anti-static powder on the panel before stamping"
  • Grab your favorite blending tools and some inks and set about blending them on the panel any way you wish.  Honestly there is no wrong way here, just go with it!
  • I then stamped the couple with a Copic friendly ink and die cut the panel on a slant.  I found it really easy to do with rectangle dies so I could have a nice finished edge.
  • I am no pro at Copic coloring of people so I quickly grabbed some markers and gave the stamped image a quick pass with some color.
  • I stamped the sentiments on the left over piece of cardstock at the bottom of the now diecut couples panel lined it up and gave a quick stamp and I was happy.  Now to assembly.
  • To adhere the ink blended panel to the 110lb card base I used Tombow Multi glue in the green bottle. For the couple panel I added 3D mounting foam to the back of the panel and attached to the top left edge flush top and left of the ink blended panel. I repeated the mounting foam with the sentiment strip but left a bit of space between so you can see some of the background peeking thru. To finish off this card some pink confetti sequins and a couple of clear heart shaped drops that I used some red glitter glue to adhere to the front, give the card a nice pop of sparkle and shine.

For more inspiration, updates, and news make sure to check out these places.

That is all for me today.  I hope I have inspired you to maybe give this technique a go and create some fast and easy cards.
If you are looking for further details about my project including links to instruction and products not listed please feel free to drop on by my blog
