Current Mewed - Cat

Hello The Rabbit Hole Designs fans!  Maria here on the blog with you today.   I am back to share with you another cat-themed project, showcasing the new Cattitude stamp set.

Here's my card using the stamp set:

I stamped the images on Neenah solar white card stock and colored the images in with my Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  Since this stamp set didn't come with coordinating dies, I used my Brother Scan N Cut 2 machine to cut the images.

The background was dry-embossed with a star embossing folder.  I adhered this piece on an A2-size side fold card base.

I used a die from my stash to die-cut the little windows on another piece of Neenah solar white card stock.  I used the small mouse and paw print stamps (included in the set) to stamp this piece.  I used fun foam to adhere this piece on my card.

I adhered the cats on the card front and finished my design by adding the sentiment that I heat-embossed on black card stock.  Here's a closer look:

I hope you like my card and got inspired.  If you are looking for further details about my project including supplies used, I would be so grateful if you can stop by my blog today at:

Winners from the July Release Inspiration Hop ~ New Design Team Member

Good Morning,
Today we want to share some news with you all.  Niccole Kulig applied to be on our first Design Team and we loved her resume yet at the time we could only accept so many to the team.  We kept seeing her amazing projects all over social media and knew we should ask her to be a guest Design Team member. So we asked her to be a GDT for the month of June and she continued to impress us with her projects and willingness to participate and interact with all of the members on the Facebook Fan Page.  So we had to take a chance and ask her if she would be interested in a full time spot on our Design team. Guess what? She said Yes!

So we would like to officially welcome Niccole to the Design team as a permanent designer for The Rabbit Hole Designs. The July release starts her term with us and we hope you will enjoy her as much as we do. We are sure if you see her around the fan page she will always have a hello for you.

Doggone Birthday

Hey crafty friends, it's Amanda from Pear Blossom Press again! Have you seen the new Doggone and Cattitude sets yet? The cats and dogs are cute, but not too cutsey, so you can make masculine cards with them as well. And I love that the sentiments are interchangeable. For today's card, I combined one of the Doggone dogs with a sentiment from Cattitude for a punny birthday card.

To make this card, I stamped, embossed, and Copic colored my dog and a bunch of bones. Then, I cut them out with my ScanNCut. Next I die cut my scene pieces - the trees, clouds, and hillside borders. The shorter, front hillside border was partially cut with a grass border, then a curved hillside border so that it looks like the grass drops off into a hole. I stamped, embossed, and Copic colored more bones on the back hillside layer. Then I coated them with masking fluid so I could ink blend on top of them.

I used makeup brushes to ink blend a cloudy sky onto a 4" x 5¼" panel. I also blended color onto the die cut pieces. I blended green into brown on the hillside pieces, around the bones, to look like a hole had been dug through the grass. Then I removed the masking fluid from the bones. I stamped and embossed the sentiment on the front hillside layer. I glued the trees and back hillside to the cloud panel and popped the front hillside, dog, and clouds up with foam tape. Then, I glued some of the cut out bones on top of the other bones and popped a few more up with foam tape. I added a few details with a white Posca pen in the grass and trees. I plan to give this card to my dad, so I didn't add any glitter or sequins. To finish the card, I popped the panel up onto a green A2 card base with a thin layer of fun foam and I stamped and embossed a pair of bones onto a coordinating envelope, just to hint at what's inside.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope I've inspired you to make a punny card of your own. Make sure to check out Yippee! and Cattitude for more inspiration with these stamp sets, and for a discount code that's still good until tomorrow (details in the links). You can find the sister article to this on my blog. I'll be back soon with another fun card, so make sure you're signed up for the newsletter so you don't miss it!

Stalked Ya Til You Liked Me

Hello The Rabbit Hole Designs fans!  Maria here again on the blog with you with a super funny (or creepy?) card, showcasing the Beach Day and Sassy Sentiment stamp sets.

Here's how I made the card:
  • stamp the images on Neenah solar white card stock and color the images in with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers (or any medium of your choice).
  • cut the images using Brother Scan N Cut 2.
  • to create the water, I used a scene building stamp.  I also used a clouds stencil to create the clouds on the background.
  • on another A2 size panel, use a die to cut the window.  Use an embossing folder to emboss this piece.
  • use a palm tree die to die-cut the coconut tree on smooth white card stock.  Color the pieces with Spectrum Noir markers.
  • stamp the sentiment from the Sassy Sentiments stamp set on a piece of black card stock with Versamark ink.  Sprinkle white embossing powder and heat-set using my heating tool.
  • assemble the card.
  • finish the design by adding the enamel dots on the coconut tree.

The Sassy Sentiments stamp set is one of my all-time favorites and when I saw the Beach Day stamp set, I knew I needed to create this card design.

Here's a closer look:

More Pretty in Peony by Martha Lucia

Hello crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with you to share another card featuring  my favorite stamp set from this month release, Pretty in Peony!

To begin I stamped the three peony flowers onto whisper white card stock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and colored them with Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. I am not expert in coloring but exploring I discovered that for me is easy if I start with the lightest color and petal by petal.

The base of my card is Basic Black card stock and I just fussy cut the Pretty in Peony with the scissors and "painted" the borders of each flower with Memento Tuxedo Black Marker. I pasted the flowers and sentiment over the card base using double sided foam tape and as final touch I added tiny points of gold around of the card with a gel pen.

Thank you so much for joining me today and remember to visit the Store because you will find brand new products!!!

Mermaid Love

Hello Rabbit Hole fans! Today I have a mer-mazing shaker card for you using the
newly released stamp set Mermaid Hair. I just love that sweet mermaid and she literally
looks good on any card you put her on.  Since my favorite type of card to make is a shaker card
I knew that's where she belonged.  For my sentiment I used the previously released
Sofishticated stamp set.  Here are the details for my card.

Card Recipe

  • Start with white A2 card base cut to 11 1/2" x 4 1/4" and fold in half at 5 1/2"
  • Cut panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth card stock down to 5 1/4" x 4" and dry emboss with scalloped embossing folder.
  • Sponge Distress Inks in 3 different colors over embossed panel in purple, blue and green, blending where colors overlap. Adhere embossed panel to base of card.
  • Die cut scalloped rectangle frame for top of card and back with clear acetate. Once acetate is secure to back of frame, build up foam tape around frame border to house your shaker bits.
  • (Optional step) Stamp, color and cut several fish from the Mermaid Hair stamp set and glue in place to embossed panel.  I always like some details not to move around on my shaker cards so they are always in view.
  • Next pick out your favorite sequins and shaker bits for the inside of your window.  This is the fun part because you can be creative and pick out a fun assortment of sequins, sprinkles and other fun additions. Spread your mix on to the embossed panel towards the center so you can lay your frame down over the top.
  • Expose adhesive from foam tape and lay your frame down over the shaker bits making sure to center your frame over your embossed panel.
  • Stamp, color and cut your sweet Mermaid and pop her up on foam tape towards the bottom corner of your card and stamp your sentiment from Sofishticated on to a white banner and adhere to top of card.
Now try your own shaker card, they are so much fun to make and they are
even more fun to play with once they're put together!

Thanks for stopping by today, make sure to check out all of
The Rabbit Hole's social media sites for much more inspiration
everyday!

(de)Caffeinated Cat!

Hello everyone!  Shanna here again with a Caffeinated Cat card, or as I like to call him (de)Caffeinated Cat!  LOL..  He sure looks like someone slipped him the decaf on accident!

It's no secret how big a fan I am of the Caffeinated Critters line...THEY ALL ROCK!  You can check out the line up here if you want to peek at all the different ones.

This cat just cracks me up....I colored him like an orange Tabby cat in my neighborhood. I used Zig markers on Canson cold press watercolor paper and die cut the rectangle out.

Check out that sentiment!!  Seen it before somewhere??  NOPE!!  It just *might*, maybe, kinda sorta be a sneak of something BIG coming to YOU soon...Be sure to keep checking back for the new release NEXT WEEK!!  You reallllly won't be disappointed!

Well, that's all today....Thank you so much for stopping by!  A little kitty cat might have told me there is another sneak over on my blog here.  Come by and see!!  See you all again soon

Happy Anniversary- with Katie

Hi there, Katie here today.  I have a simple but sweet anniversary card to share with you today.

I may give this to my hubby for our anniversary in a few months.  I hope he likes it.

Here is how I made it:
  • I stamped the the main image from Love is More on a slightly opaque vellum using archival ink.
  • I used zigs and a spectrum aqua for the background.
  • Used a circle die to cut it out.
  • I stamped the background stamps onto the white.
  • Lastly, I adhered the circle over the top.

Pretty easy and I like the pop of color and the watercolor look of the the cream crisp white.

I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for visiting today.  If you would like see a full list of supplies please visit my blog

DIY Pop-Up Rainbow Slider

Hey crafty friends! It's Amanda from Pear Blossom Press again, and today I've got another fun interactive card for you! Have you seen the Rainbow Slider die set yet? I must've been hiding under a rock, because I missed it when it came out, but now I'm slightly obsessed! The super talented Ardyth Percy-Robb has a few videos featuring it, and now I #totallyneedit!

Since I don't have the set yet, I decided to piece one together using supplies I have on hand. (Still gettin' the die set though, just sayin' ;) ) And what goes better with rainbows than unicorns, right? So of course, the Caffeinated Unicorn is right there under the rainbow, along with a sassy sentiment. Let me show you how I put this card together...

What do you think; fun, right? Can you see why I couldn't wait to make one? In addition to the Caffeinated Unicorn, I also used the cloud stamps from the Love You More stamp set. If you'd like links to any of the other specific products I used, you can find them in the sister post to this article on my blog.

I love the way this card turned out. All of the sparkly details are really pretty and the pop-up rainbow is an unexpected element that adds a lot of wow. This would be a great card to send to a friend, just to make them laugh. Or tuck a coffee gift card inside, and you've got a fun birthday card/gift! Who would you send this card to? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for swinging by today. I'll be back soon with another card to share...
