At The Swimming Hole

Hi everyone! Lauren here today and I am sharing this card where this Rhino is still enjoying summer He's got his trunks on and is at the local swimming hole for some R & R.

To make this shaker card, I used the new Splish Splash stencil and also the Caffeinated Rhino stamp set. I love how the stamp set has the cute bird included.

I started with an A2 sized white cardstock panel. Using an oval die, I cut the swimming hole out of the bottom corner. Then onto a separate white panel, I blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress oxide ink over the stencil. This will be the back of the shaker.

Next, I masked off a the stencil so I could create the splash coming out of the top of the pool using the same colour ink.

Then onto Copic friendly white cardstock, I stamped the rhino and 3 birds. I had to reverse stamp the last bird in order to get him facing the opposite way. To do this, I stamped the bird onto acetate then carefully placed white cardstock over that and applied pressure to transfer the image onto the card stock. Now I was ready to colour them then fussy cut them all out. The copics I used were:

Rhino: C0, C1, C2, C3 Eye:B24 Mug:Y00, Y06

Swim trunks:B00, BG01, BG06 stars:Y06

Birds: Yellow: YY00, Y06, Y17

Blue: B00, BG01, B24

Orange: C01, Y06, YR02, YR07

To create the shaker portion, I cut a piece of acetate so that it extended about .25" past the border of the pool. I adhered behind the pool using double sided tape. I then scored the acetate so it would fold at the same lines of the edges of the white cardstock panel.

I really wanted the rhino to look like he was standing in the swimming hole, so I decided to cut a slit in the acetate (with my exacto knife) so I could slip his legs through but no sequins could escape.

Once I had the rhino legs in, I placed double sided foam tape all along the rim of the pool. Then I put a bunch of sequins into the area I created. To seal up the shaker, I used the stenciled background I made and placed it on top of the foam tape making sure to get the panel right to the very corner of the acetate I had scored. Next I adhered the acetate onto the back of the stenciled panel.

I stamped the sentiment and bordered it with black cardstock. On the front, I adhered the sentiment, birds and placed double sided tape behind the portion of rhino sticking out of the pool. I backed the whole panel with blue card stock and adhered it to an A2 card base.

Finally, to finish the card off, I glued some sequins onto the front.

I am what I am, a chubby unicorn.

Hi TRHD Fans! Amy here and I'm so excited to share a card with you today featuring the Caffeinated Rhino Stamp set from the October 2020 Release at The Rabbit Hole Designs.

Isn't he just the cutest? I can't even handle the funny sentiments that come in the set. Chubby Unicorn? Hilarious!!

On this card I started by stamping, coloring, and fussy cutting out the adorable rhino. I set him aside while I worked on the rest of the card. I have recently been gifted a bunch of rolls of washi tapes (to add to my already hefty collection) so I wanted to utilize some of those in this card. I took an A2 size card base of white card stock and put some strips of washi tape in coordinating colors on the front of it.

I was originally going to place the rhino directly on top of the washi tape but I realized that the background was a little too busy for my taste. I didn't want it to take away from the Rhino as the focal point. I felt that the vellum was a good solution. I die cut a piece of that and partially laid it on top of the washi. I made a score line on the vellum and attached it on the back of the panel so that it was secure but that the adhesive wouldn't show. I also die cut out an oval shape to set the rhino on and give him further separation from the background. This worked out great because the oval gave me ample surface space to attach the action wobbler to the back of the "chubby unicorn" LOL.

I white heat embossed one of the sentiments from the set on the same blue card stock that I cut the oval out of to tie in the color scheme. I attached the action wobbler to the card base on top of the vellum. I popped up the sentiment with some foam tape and used that to further affix the vellum on that side of the card. That's it, that finishes my card today!

Cotton tail Blender Brushes

Caffeinated Goodness!

Hi everyone! Von Marie here and I am happy to be on the blog today. I have a Slimline Card to share using some products from the most recent Release.

On my card I used the New Caffeinated Rhino, Splish Splash Stencil, Cotton Tail Blender Brushes, and Caffeinated Unicorn, and Caffeinated Unicorn Die. I first started out with a sheet of Neenah Solar White cardstock with the Splish Splash Stencil and Cotton Tail Blender Brushes. I used Rainbow Distress Oxide inks and started blending. This stencil is made to connect so it is perfect for a Slimline. I rotated my stencil and began blending until I had the look I was happy with. When I was done I sprayed some water and dried the excess with a microfiber towel. I then splattered some purple paint onto my panel and when that was dry I cut it out with a Wonky stitched slimline die.

I stamped my caffeinated critters with Memento Black tuxedo ink and colored them in with my Copic Markers. I fussy cut my Rhino and cut my unicorn out with the coordinating die. I thought it would be a funny to have a conversation about what coffee does for them. I stamped the sentiments with a black ink and matted them with black cardstock. I then glued my critters and sentiments with Nuvo Deluxe Adhesive onto my panel. I added white Gel Accents, sequins, and sparkle with my clear glitter pen. Lastly, I added my panel to a slimline card base. I hope you like my card for today. Thank you for stopping by!

I LOVE Chubby Unicorns!

Hey yall! Tangii here, Happy weekend!! I had so much fun getting inky with this card! First off I created a mask of my Caffeinated Rhino. I placed my mask where I wanted my Rhino to be then got busy with some Oxide Inks and Cotton Tail Blending Brushes. I used 3 different colors of Oxides and blended around my panel, not really putting much effort in to blending the colors in to each other. Once I finished that layer of ink, I used my heat gun to get it good and dry!

Next I inked up the Caffeine formula image from the set with embossing ink and topped it off with clear embossing powder. I stamped several in a random pattern over the panel. After heat embossing that clear, I went back to the Oxides and blended up another layer. This is where I paid attention to blending edges better, etc. Once I finished inking I wiped the excess ink off of the embossed images... look at those formula's POP!

Next up I removed the Rhino "mask" and then stamped the Rhino on the white space and colored him up with Copics. Once I was sure I had all of the colors in place, etc. I splashed some water over the card front for texture.

For the very last piece, my inked up panel is wonky shaped which gave me a great place for my sentiment. I popped up the inked panel then stamped my sentiment in a dark gray and added a little Blue Bird from the set. I just love all of the layers and textures on this!!!!

grab coffee. go VOTE.

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to The Rabbit Hole Designs blog. Are you ready to rock the Vote this fall? I was inspired by the fun star studded shorts the Caffeinated Rhino is sporting. I am using the Ribbon Star stencil and the Marquee Word Stamp set.

I started with a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" blue printed cardstock. I used the Ribbon Star stencil and clear embossing ink to stencil the left side of the printed cardstock. I embossed it with white embossing powder and heat set it. I repeated this technique on the right side of the printed cardstock and embossed it with blue embossing powder and heat set it. I colored the Rhino and his bird with alcohol markers. Using a set of click able letters, I created the sentiment "grab coffee" and "go" on to strips of white cardstock. Using the Marquee Words I stamped out and created the word "VOTE". I used the "W" masking off one side to create the letter "V". I fussy cut each of the letters out and glued them to the strip to read "go VOTE"

so... Remember to grab your coffee and go vote!
