Modern Congrats card with Video Tutorial.

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to The Rabbit Hole Designs blog. Have you seen all the fabulous projects the Brand Ambassadors posted over the last three days? OMGeee, what an amazing release and what creativity!

Today's card features the Mid Century Modern stencil, Bitty Bunny Blending Brushes and the Congrats die set! This is one of those cards where the photos do not do it justice. I've included a couple different angles, so you can check out the glitter paper, holographic cardstock and the stenciling up close. Light definitely plays differently with specialty papers.

I have a YouTube video showing how I created the background design using the Mid Century Modern stencil with the Bitty Bunny Blending Brushes to bring out thd detail. Click on the YouTube image to link to the stenciling tutorial.

I love how this photo brings out the glitter paper with much more detail.

Double Interactive Slimline Marquee Words

Hello crafty friends! There is nothing more fun than an interactive card, and this card is filled with fun. Not only does this card light up but the letters are interchangeable! I have also included a process video on how I put this fantastic card together.

I decided to have a little fun and chose a slimline card for this design so that the letters can slide with ease. I cut all the letters from Happy Birthday from the Marquee Words Stamp set and placed them on acetate. I also used the Bunny Bowl to keep all my letters in one spot.

To make this card stand out a little more. I placed a thin piece of vellum for the background and EZ Lights to make this sign glow! Be sure and check out the process video linked below on how I put this card together!! Happy crafting!

Bright, Bold, and Lucky! - a charming card with coloring tutorial

Hello my crafty friend! Today I am on the blog with my this Bright and Bold Lucky Charm card featuring the Tattoo Icon Stencil and the Old School Tattoo - Horseshoe stamp set. I absolutely loved using these bold colors. I think it provides a wonderful bit of pop to this lucky card.

A - I stamped out the horseshoe stamp in a dark blue ink

B - I lined up the lucky charm sentiment in the banner of the horseshoe stamps and stamps it in black ink

C - I chose a bright blue cardstock for the A2 card base, a lime green cardstock cut to 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" for the 1st layer , and dark purple cardstock cut to 4" x 5 1/4" to create the card front. I use the Tattoo Icon stencil and silver ink on the purple card stock to create a stenciled background design using only the Horseshoe cut out on the stencil

D - I used double sided adhesive tape to attach the card base and two layers together

E - I colored the horseshoe and fussy cut it out. You will find a coloring tutorial for the Horseshoe on my YouTube channel. Using the nesting circles in my craft stash, I die cut 3 different consecutive circle sizes in the same blue, lime green, and purple cardstock layers

F - I used double sided adhesive tape too attach the 3 layered circles to each other as shown. I used double sided adhesive foam squares to attach the horseshoe image to the circles

G - I attached the the Horseshoe to the lower right side of the card to finished it

DIY Pop-Up Rainbow Slider

Hey crafty friends! It's Amanda from Pear Blossom Press again, and today I've got another fun interactive card for you! Have you seen the Rainbow Slider die set yet? I must've been hiding under a rock, because I missed it when it came out, but now I'm slightly obsessed! The super talented Ardyth Percy-Robb has a few videos featuring it, and now I #totallyneedit!

Since I don't have the set yet, I decided to piece one together using supplies I have on hand. (Still gettin' the die set though, just sayin' ;) ) And what goes better with rainbows than unicorns, right? So of course, the Caffeinated Unicorn is right there under the rainbow, along with a sassy sentiment. Let me show you how I put this card together...

What do you think; fun, right? Can you see why I couldn't wait to make one? In addition to the Caffeinated Unicorn, I also used the cloud stamps from the Love You More stamp set. I love the way this card turned out. All of the sparkly details are really pretty and the pop-up rainbow is an unexpected element that adds a lot of wow. Tropical Vibes Rocker Card

Hello my crafty friends, it's Amanda from Pear Blossom Press again. Today I'm sharing a rocker card with an extra surprise; there's a pendulum hanging under the Caffeinated Shark, so he sways on the tide as the card rocks.

This is the second card I designed to teach at the Unstoppable Retreat in Seattle this past weekend. (You can find the first one here.) The plan was to film it live, so you'd be able to watch us craft in real time and make one with us if you'd like. Unfortunately, we ran long with the first card and didn't get to do this one together. I passed out kits for this card to all of the attendees and I shot a quick video in my hotel room after. My apologies for the lighting and such; it's so hard to find a hotel that offers a full service filming studio ;)

For this card, you'll need the following stamps and dies (head on over to my blog for links to specific products):

Caffeinated Shark Stamp Set
Nesting Circle Dies (5½", 1¼", and ¾")
Stitched Wave Border Dies
Stitched Hillside Border Dies
Tropical Dies
Scalloped Circle Dies

You will also need a strip of paper that measures ¼" x 2½" and a penny to create the pendulum. The hardest part was die cutting all of the pieces. Which, to be honest, isn't actually hard, just time consuming. Especially, when you are cutting for 30 cards. I'd really like to thank the awesome ladies that sat around the dining room table with me the night before class and helped me finish cutting the pieces, Alison, Robin, Ernylee, Rachel, and Brianne, you ladies are fabulous!!!

I have to take a second to gush a little about the retreat...it was so much fun! I got to meet several of my online friends in person, and a whole new group of amazing ladies that I now get to call friends too! We were in a gorgeous setting and had a wonderful time crafting, chatting, laughing, and forging new friendships. We shared great meals and silly jokes all day, and funny stories and cocktails all night. I can't wait to do it again next year! A great big thanks to Beth Duff for organizing the retreat, and The Rabbit Hole Designs for being one of the generous sponsors. I was so happy to show off some of their fun stamps in my class!

Faux Sand for the Caffeinated Crab with Video

Welcome back to the blog Rabbit Hole fans!

and I have a fun card and video to share with you

that features a new technique I recently learned.

I have a way to turn plain kraft card stock

into faux sand! It's so easy to do and so much fun!

I wanted to used the Caffeinated Crab on my card today and I thought

that the perfect backdrop for him was some beach sand!

I even filmed a short video to show you how easy the process is.

The card construction is pretty simple.

I stamped and watercolored 3 tired crabs and used my scan n cut to cut them out.

Once I had the crabs ready to go I also cut out 3 seashells to layer behind them.

My background cover die had lots of slits in it which was perfect for

slipping my crabs behind. I stamped #crabby next to each crab and the card was done!

Here is a closeup of the sand so you can see the detail.

See... easy peasy card construction but the fun part was the sand.

#deathbeforedecaf Light-Up Card

Hello my crafty friend, Amanda here from Pear Blossom Press. Today I've got a fun new light-up card featuring the Caffeinated Dino! I made it for my husband who roasts his own coffee; and man, is it delicious! But this card has a second reference that he will especially love. When we got married, we ordered a custom wedding band for him that incorporates a ring of dinosaur bone and another ring of meteorite. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little jealous. It's a cool ring. So how perfect is this card for him? Coffee, dinosaurs, and a meteorite! And to top it all off, the meteorite lights up so it looks like a ball of fire flying across the sky! He's going to love it!

So how did I make this card? Well, I'm glad you asked! I've got a video for you showing you the whole process right here...

Adding Motion to the Caffeinated Flamingo

Hello crafty friend! It's Amanda again and today I've got a quick and easy way to add some movement to your cards with a simple lever. This is one of those techniques that is much easier to watch than explain, so I've put together a video for you here...

In the video, you saw me stamp out the Caffeinated Flamingo and use her for my focal point. I also used the back of the Caffeinated Crab for the island on my ink blended background. I chose Copic markers to color the flamingo, as well as the tropical die cut pieces used to build the scene; I like the vibrant colors and blendability I get with them. To help the sentiment stand out, I embossed it on a black strip with white powder.

My card front was cut out with a stitched rectangle die and I added a thumb notch to it, as well as the A2 card base, with a stitched circle die. I cut the pull tab and sentiment strip with stitched dies to carry the theme through on all of my pieces. I used a clear piece of acetate to make the second part of the lever so it would blend into the background as much as possible. My ScanNCut is my favorite tool for fussy cutting, but before I could cut out the flamingo and arm, I needed to make sure I prepped my images by adding lines with a Copic Liner (0.3) and whiting out unwanted areas with a paint pen.

To attach the lever pieces together, I used mini brads. You can make thin fasteners from paper, but brads are fast and easier. In order to accommodate the thickness of the brads, I popped my card front and flamingo body up with foam tape. To finish the card, I added some shimmer and shine with several glitter products, and a clear glaze on her eye.

February Guest Designer - Lisa Golzbein

Hello and welcome back to The Rabbit Hole Designs blog!

My name is Lisa from Oh So Cute by Lisa and I am

honored to be guest designing for the month of February!

Ok, so if you have your morning cup of java or cocoa or whiskey

or (whatever gets you moving in the morning)... we'll get started!

The new stamps here at The Rabbit Hole are so much fun to create with!

For today's card I am featuring the Caffeinated Cat stamp.
I am LOVING that CRAZY hair and those adorable bunny slippers!

Shaker cards are one of my favorite types of card to make.

Here is the "How To" for my coffee loving feline card:

Card Recipe

My first step was to stamp the cat in Gina K Amalgam ink and color her with my Zig and Copic markers.
Next I cut out the stamped image with my Scan and Cut machine. I love my machine but you could easily fussy cut this image out with scissors.
The next thing I did was to stamp the caffeine molecule and #momlife stamp randomly on to some polka dot patterned paper for the background. The patterned paper was cut just slightly smaller than the front of the A2 sized card base.
For the top of the shaker I used a scalloped collage frame die and I adhered a piece of acetate to the back of it. I built the frame up with foam tape so my shaker guts would have room to move around.
Now for the fun part! I chose a variety of coffee colored sequins to fill my card with and I made sure to add a splash of teal to match the coffee cup. I placed the sequin mix down on the patterned paper in the spots where I knew the windows were in the collage frame and then I adhered the frame over the sequins.
All that was left was to add my sentiment and cat to the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment on to some brown card stock in white and embossed with white powder. I cut the sentiment into 3 separate strips and popped them up on foam tape. Oh yeah...... kitty got popped up too!😂
