Golden Poinsettia Christmas

Hello friends! Welcome back to the blog. Today's card features the Poinsettia & Pinecones 6x8 stamp set along with its coordinating dies.

Card details:

  • Start with an A2 dark purple card base. Stamp the largest image from Poinsettia & Pinecones 6x8 stamp set with an embossing ink along the open edge of the card. Heat emboss with gold embossing powder.
  • Using a partial die-cutting technique, die-cut the bottom edge of the embossed image with the coordinating die. Make sure the top edge of the image doesn't get cut and remains connected to the card base.
  • Die-cut the largest frame from You've Been Framed dies on light pink cardstock. Blend the panel with the Candy Twist Stencil with light pink ink for a tone-on-tone effect. Adhere the panel to the inside of the dark purple card base.
  • Stamp the sentiment "Merry Christmas" on light pink cardstock from the same stamp set and die-cut with coordinating dies. For added dimension, die-cut the sentiment dies on blank white cardstock and stack the die-cuts. Attach sentiment near top right of card.
  • Add a gold cord bow and gold glitter pen details to finish card.

Lovely Poinsettia Card with a Foil Plate Press Technique!

Hello crafty friends!  Jenn here sharing this lovely holiday card using three products from The Rabbit Hole Designs.

I love the beautiful Poinsettia and Pinecone stamp set (illustrated by Kelly Taylor)  it is paired with the Fall Foxes stamp set an Agota Pop illustration) and the Garden Trellis foil plate.

Yes,  you can letter press foil plates!
I used a metallic silver ink on the foil plate and BetterPressed the background image onto a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of gray blue cardstock.  The result is a gorgeous frosty background for this card.
I stamped and colored the Poinsettia and Pinecone images with OLO Markers and did the same for the fox image. I stamped the Merry Christmas sentiment on the gray blue cardstock.  The coordinating dies for the Poinsettia and Pinecone stamp set cut the sentiment and flora images perfectly.  I assembled and attached the die cut images to the Garden Trellis background with glue and adhesive foam strips.

Poinsettia Birthday

Hello friends! Welcome back to the blog. Today's card features the Poinsettia & Pinecones 6x8 stamp set along with its coordinating dies. I chose non-traditional colors and created a December birthday card rather than a holiday card.

Card details:

  • Cut a blue cardstock panel to 5.25" x 4". Stamp the largest image from the Poinsettia & Pinecones 6x8 stamp set twice with blue ink to cover the entire panel. Add shine with a shimmer spray.
  • Stamp the single poinsettia image from the Poinsettia & Pinecones 6x8 stamp set with an embossing ink on patterned paper and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Cut out the embossed poinsettia image with scissors.
  • Die-cut the coordinating die from silver foil cardstock. Adhere the two poinsettias together, offsetting the foiled one behind the patterned paper one.
  • Stamp the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Sentimentally Speaking stamp set and die-cut with its coordinating die. Adhere it on top of the patterned paper poinsettia.
  • Attach the images and sentiment to the blue panel and attach the panel to a white card base.

Pretty In Pink: Poinsettia & Pinecones

Hello crafty friends and welcome back to the Rabbit Hole Designs Blog!  It's Rick and I am back up on the blog today with another fun Christmas card to share with you using the Poinsettia & Pinecones Stamp Set (designed by Kelly Taylor) for the Rabbit Hole Designs, along with the coordinating Poinsettia & Pinecones Dies.  If you haven't figured it out I am in love with this stamp and die set!  I used a nontraditional Christmas color scheme for today's card; I decided to use shades of Pink and Mint for the poinsettias.

So, let's talk a little bit about why you may want to pick a nontraditional colored scheme for your cards and especially with the Poinsettia & Pinecones Stamp Set.  Why go for pinks and mint, you ask? Well, my friend, it's all about adding a breath of fresh air to the traditional holiday color schemes. Christmas cards in shades of red and green are wonderful, but a little twist can go a long way.

I remember one year, I received a card with soft pinks and mints, and it instantly stood out in the sea of red and green. It brought a smile to my face, and that's exactly what we want to achieve with our own creations. So, let's get daring and explore these vibrant hues.
