Floral Flamingo Friend - A2 Stenciled Card

Hello my crafty friends!  Welcome to todays The Rabbit Hole Design blog. I love all the sentiments that come with the Flamingo Botanical stamp set. you really need to check it out!  This sentiment I chose for this card reads: "If I had a flower for every time you made me smile and laugh I could walk in my garden forever".  Don't you just love it? I am featuring the Flamingo Botanical stamp set, the Circle Illusion stencil, and the Cotton Tail Blender Brushes.

The stenciling is super simple.  I used a low tack tape to secure an open circle mask/stencil on a piece of 4"x 5 1/4" white cardstock on the lower right . I stamped the Circle Illusion stencil over the top of the  open circle.  I chose Speckled Egg and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks for the stencil blending with my Cotton Tail Blender Brushes.

I stamped the gorgeous sentiment to the top left of the card front, attached it to a slightly larger piece of pink cardstock.  I tied a thin black organza ribbon around the car just under the sentiment and tied a bow.

I colored the Flamingo image from the Flamingo Botanical stamp in pink and coral alcohol markers, fussy cut it out and attached it to the card from with double sided foam tape. I added a few of the sequins to the lower front left of the card front and attached it to a navy A2 card base completing the card.

Here are The Rabbit Hole Design products used in this card:

Advice from Flowers

Hi Crafty Friends! Amy here and I'm so thrilled to share today's card with you featuring the Flamingo Botanical stamp set from the September 2020 Release at The Rabbit Hole Designs.

I am absolutely crazy about florals and this release is no exception. The pairing of the animals with the blooming flowers is just so unique and beautiful.

On this card I wanted to use just the flower all over in the design and show a slightly different way to use this stunning stamp set.

For this card I started with a panel of A2 sized bristol smooth paper. I heat embossed the bloom from the stamp set all over the panel with gold embossing powder.

For the coloring I used my watercolor brush pens and filled in all the lovely flowers. The embossed edges of the flowers came in really handy when I was working with the brush pens because it creates little wells and makes it easier to color in. On the background I wrote directly on my glass work surface with the blue watercolor brush pen and used my water brushes to further dilute the pigment. I wanted the background to be really subtle and soft and not take away from the blooms.

Finally, I chose the sentiment "Bloom Where You Are Planted" from the set because I felt that it fit the design so well and it really is such great advice! I heat embossed that in gold as well and die cut that into a sentiment strip.

All that was left was to assemble the pieces with some foam tape for dimension. I attached the die cut panel to an A2 sized card base, and that finishes my card today.

I hope that you enjoyed this card and found some inspiration. Be sure to check out all the items from the new release as well as all the other fabulous products that The Rabbit Hole Designs carries. You can follow this link HERE to see their whole product line.

Bloom Where You Are Planted

Hello fellow crafty friends! It's Lauren and today I am on the blog sharing this pretty and inspiring card that features the gorgeous Flamingo Botanical stamp set from the newest release.

To create this card, I started out by using my Versamark ink pad to stamp the flamingo and the sentiment onto white cardstock. Then embossed with gold embossing powder.
I coloured the flamingo and flowers using Prismacolor pencils. The colours I used were:
Flowers: Lavender, Parma violet, Dahlia purple and white as a blender.
Leaves: Sap green, Spring green, Grass green
Flamingo: Deco peach, Peach and Black

I used a dotted oval die from my stash to cut out the flamingo. To create the background, I ink blended, using the Cotton Tail blending brushes, Wilted Violet and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide inks onto Photopaper using the Diamond Flower Stencil. When you use distress oxide inks on photopaper, it creates a dull film over the inked surface. I rubbed that film off with a dry microfiber towel and the surface became nice and glossy.

Using a rectangle dotted die I trimmed the background down to fit my A2 card base. I trimmed the sentiment and backed it with purple cardstock then adhered all the elements of the card onto the base.

I hope you enjoyed todays card! Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous long weekend! -Lauren

Bloom Where You Are Planted

Hello there!
Michelle here, sharing a combination of two of the newest Botanical Stamp sets, Turtle Botanical and Flamingo Botanical. I chose to stamp the flowers with a no line coloring technique. I stamped the flowers using tea dye distress ink and colored with Copic Markers.
For the center flower: R35, R46, R56, and RV99
light orange rose: E93, E95, E97, and E99
yellow rose: Y11, Y13, Y15, Y35, and YR14
For the rose centers: E81, E84, E87, and E89

I stenciled the word 'bloom' using Spell It Stencil and distress oxide inks, barn door and black soot.
For the base cardstock I used our very own Jammie's shimmer cardstock.  I added a strip of glitter cardstock to the base of the panel and layered the flowers. I embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder and added some shimmer with stickles gold glitter glue.

Thanks for stopping by for a peek!!!
Have a great week!!

Michelle
