Off-Road Besties - (Sassy best friends card tutorial)

Hello crafty friends!  Today I have a simple and fun beastie card to share.  I was inspired by one of the new sentiments  "You are the Thema to my Louise"  from The Rabbit Hole Designs' Sassy Sentiment #2 stamp set.  I paired this sentiment uo with the Up In Flames stencil, and the SxS Life stamp set*

I love using these three sets together to create this fun best friends card.
 I stamped one of the SxS off-road vehicles randomly on a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" white cardstock with purple ink to create the card background.  I stamp the same image on a piece of coloring cardstock and colored it with purple and grey Olo alcohol markers.  I die cut the colored image using the SxS Life coordinating die set. 

I stenciled the flames (from the Up In Flames stencil) onto a piece of 1" x 4" white cardstock with red, yellow, and orange inks.  I stamped the sentiment "You're the Thema to my Louise" to the left of the Flames.  I mounted the sentiment strip onto a piece of 4" x 1 1/4" red cardstock.  

I glued the background piece onto a red A2 card base.  I used foam squares to attach the colored SxS image to the bottom front of the card.  I glued the sentiment strip to the card front just above the colored SxS vehicle completing the card.

That'll Buff Right Out


Happy Friday-eve!!!!  Tangii here with another easy and fun card that could be great for a masculine card!  A little ink blending here, a little heat embossing there and a smidge of patterned paper and voila!

So first off, I stamped my SXS Life image with some embossing ink and some ultra fine black EP.  After heat embossing the image I got my Up in Flames stencil in place and grabbed a few Distress Oxide inks and my Bitty Bunny Blending brushes and got to work. The Getting Inky papers are perfect for paper piecing or in this case adding some texture elements... tell me that blue ink paper doesn't make the coolest clouds!  The clouds and the sentiment are all popped up with foam tape.

Good Friends and Day Rides

Hello TRHD friends! I am sharing another fun card using the SXS Life 6x8 stamp set and the Up in Flames 6x6 Stencil.


My clouds are made from a hand cut stencil from a friend that I have had for years. I used alcohol markers to color the image, and Distress Oxide inks for the sky and flames.

With age comes the cage Rainbow Card

 



It is June, PRIDE month and I wanted to do a rainbow color combo card for my post at TRHD. This is such a bright look for any card and not hard to achieve at all with a few pointers. First of all, you don't need all the colors of the rainbow in inks to end up with this look. You only need pink (or red), yellow, blue, and purple inks. The colors in between these colors will be created when you blend the colors. It is such a fun look to make when you see your new color blends in between. My favorite on this card is the coral that got created when my pink and yellow blended. I used the new May release stamp set: SxS Life.

Good friends & dayrides!


Happy Friday!!!!  Tangii here with an easy and fun card that could be great for a masculine card!  Not everyone has "mad coloring skills" and even if you do, you don't always feel like coloring.  For this card I used a lot of ink blending and a little coloring.

So first off I stamped Desert Background image on my panel, I did tape off the edges to keep them crisp and white.  It kind of adds a border while keeping the card "simple". I grabbed a few Distress Oxide inks and my Bitty Bunny Blending brushes and got to work, I blended the whole image.  Next I grabbed some Copics and colored in the main images (snake, skull, boulder and cacti).  I really just focused on laying on some color here, not alot of coloring technique! lol  Once it was all colored, I stamped the image again, just to make the image pop some... it was kind of muted with all of that Oxide ink on it (using the Misti, of course!).  Finally I added the sentiment and voila!  Easy peasy, pumpkin squeezy!

A Little Dirt from the Desert

My home state is Arizona. I love the desert and all of its different, beautiful lands. So when I saw this Desert Background (Dustin Pike) from the June release, it took me back to where I grew up and lived for over two decades.


I used a simple spotlight technique with alcohol markers to highlight part of the desert with the cute snake (not so cute in real life, but we always got along). I used a sentiment from the SxS Life stamp set. A little twine to tie everything together and it's ready to send back home!

Off Roading Fun

 


Hi, Lauren here sharing this fun off roading card. I used one of the vehicles from the special new SXS Life stamp set to create my card. These vehicles are so much fun to color! 

I started out by stamping the vehicle onto a white 4.25x5.5" cardstock panel. 

Then I colored the vehicle, dirt and sky background using colored pencils.





After coloring, I stamped both sentiments onto the panel in black ink. I waited for the ink to dry before I trimmed the panel using a wonky stitched rectangle die from my stash. Then I backed the panel with black cardstock 1/8" smaller than 4.25x5.5 then adhered it onto an A2 (4.25x5.5") white, top folding card base.

I loved coloring this scene and creating this fun off roading card. Thank you for visiting!
