Glow-in-the-Dark Cheshire Grin

Hello! The Cheshire Cat has always been one of my favorite Alice in Wonderland characters. He was mysterious, unique and oh so very cool! So, when I saw this image from the Wonderland 3 stamp set, illustrated by Dustin Pike, I knew I wanted to do a glow in the dark card!

I started out by stamping my Cheshire Cat onto white cardstock in black ink. I then colored him up using my colored pencils.

I then stamped and fussy cut out a mask for him and covered my colored image so I could ink blend my background.

I then used my Cottontail Blending brushed to blend Cracked Pistachio, Blueprint Sketch and Faded Jeans and then Black Soot Distress Oxide inks in a circle around my image.

I then carefully removed the mask and trimmed his torso off. I replaced the mask, just the head now, and softly ink blended Cracked Pistachio over his body.

After all the ink blending was done, I hit the panel with my heat gun to dry the ink more quickly. I then prepared my paper for embossing using the Cottontail Embossing Powder tool to help reduce any stray embossing powder from sticking to my panel. Then I used an embossing pen to cover his teeth/smile with embossing ink. I covered his smile with glow-in-the-dark embossing powder and heat set it.

Next, I prepped my paper again for embossing, stamped the sentiment using an embossing ink pad, covered it with the glow-in-the-dark embossing powder then heat set it.

Check out that glow-in-the-dark action!!

After embossing, I trimmed my panel down using a 4.25x5.5" wonky stitched rectangle die from my stash. I backed it with a colored cardstock that coordinated with the color of my cat then adhered it all onto a top folding A2 (4.25x5.5") card base.

I think this turned out so fun! I hope this inspires you to create a fun Alice inspired creation!

Any Road Can Get You There! card

Clean and simple cards are sometimes a great way to bring a lot of emphasis to a card. For this card, I used a shaped die to create a cardstock stencil. Since I knew I would be doing white cups/saucers with red and black shapes. Picking the color for the background was easy.  Blue is such a nice color to ground your images, think of the sky and how everything looks nice against that blue sky. The image on this card is from the set TRH-176 Wonderland 2, designed by Dustin Pike, the sentiment is from the set TRH-178 Heard In Wonderland.

Hello, hello! Here's a card you can make in less than a minute! A card like this, quicker the better as you want to show your support to a friend as soon as they need it, right? Vanessa here! I used the sentiment from the Heard in Wonderland set that The Rabbit Hole Designs released this month. I die cut and layered pieces cut from their beautiful Galaxy paper pad for an A2 card.

Take care!

Curiouser & Curiouser

Hello everyone! Judy here today with a curious greeting!

I'm sure you have seen the super fun August release with all of the Wonderland images (@dustinpikedraws). Today I am sharing Alice from Wonderland 1, as she decides (or has decided!) to drink the magic potion!

I stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne, embossed with Clear Embossing Powder, and colored with Copic markers. I cut Alice out with the Coordinating Die. The sentiment from Heard in Wonderland was stamped and embossed directly onto the Getting Inky 6x6 heavyweight paper. I love the movement it gives as a background for Alice!

You can find the entire release in the TRHD Shop and also more of my projects on my blog at Joy in a JAR.

Wonderland slimline card.

You're Another Year Younger - Wonderland Series

Hello crafty friends. With this being my birthday week, I thought I would share this fun light up un-birthday card created with the Wonderland series by The Rabbit Hole Designs.  I am using the Heard in Wonderland, Tea Party, and Wonderland 3 stamp sets along with the Rhombus/Diamond Hot Foil Coverplate.  The images are Illustrated by Dustin Pike.
I started by letterpressing the Rhombus/Diamond Hot Foil Coverplate instead of foiling it.  This is achieved (in most machines) by placing the foil coverplate upright in your die cutting base plate, next place a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" 100 -110 lb cardstock on top of the foil coverplate,  add the squishy mat and lastly the top clear plate.   (NOTE: You may want to lightly spritz or slightly dampen the cardstock before placing it on to the foil coverplate so the paper fibers are more pliable).  Run the sandwich through your machine and you get this beautiful 3D result.
I cut the Rhombus letter pressed piece down to 4" x 5 1/4" to create a card front.  I use Olo alcohol markers to colored the party lantern image from the Tea Party 6x6 stamp set and cut out just the lantern swag.  I positioned it on top of the letterpress card front to pencil  a dot location where I wanted to punch holes to add one of the three wired EZ-Lights to.
You can see how I positioned and secured the three EZ-light and battery pack to the backside of the card using double thick adhesive foam strips.  I glued the swag ribbon part, and only the very top of the lanterns, to the top of the card front making sure to position the lantern over the light holes and lifting them slightly.
(NOTE: I positioned the EZ-light battery pack so the button would be in one of the diamond divits (or the indent area) when you turn the card front over to the top side.  I stamped "push here" using a stamp in my stash)
I removed the adhesive foam strip release paper and positioned the cardfront on to an A2 red card base.  I stamped and colored the mad tea drinker, from the Wonderland 3 stamp set, in colored pencils and die cut him out.  I stamp and fussy cut the unbirthday sentiment, from the Heard in Wonderland stamp set.
I glued these final two images on to the card front completing the card.
