The Debonair Cat

This cat never fails to make me smile! I love everything about him from his cute bowler hat down to his adorable teeny paws. He is the most suave cat I know so I was positive he could pull off a pair of red glasses and bow tie and do it with with flair!

To create my charming card, I first stamped the cat image onto white cardstock using fade out ink for no line coloring. I then colored him up using Prismacolor pencils. Colors I used were:
Cat: Warm Gray, 10%, 20%, 30%. 50% for whiskers, nose, mouth and chin
Glasses, bow tie and umbrella: Poppy Red, Crimson Red and Tuscan Red
Hat and vest: Sienna Brown, Chestnut, Dark Brown then Metallic gold for button
Pants: Light Umber, Dark Umber and Chocolate
Book: Cool Gray 50%, 90% and White
Umbrella handle: Dark Umber, Black and White
Coffee cup: Cool Gray 10%, 50% and Seashell Pink

Once I had him all colored and ready to go, I used a scalloped, stitched circle die to cut him out.

Since he is prepared for wet weather, I decided to give him a watery background. I inked Speckled Egg Distress oxide ink through the Splish Splash stencil onto white cardstock. I then trimmed that down using an A2 sized wonky stitched die from my stash and adhered it to a top folding A2 card base.

I then added double sided foam tape to the back of my dapper cat and adhered him to the front of the card.

I hope this card/cat makes you smile as much as it does me! Thanks for visiting! Lauren

Hipster Hugs

Hello, hello my crafty friend, it's Amanda from Pear Blossom Press again! I'm back with another no-line coloring project featuring the Simple Things stamp set. I have to tell you, I really love this kitty! He's dapper, and a bit of a hipster, all at the same time. You may remember the first card I made with him (click here to see). For that card, I stamped him in brown ink, and colored him with a warmer palette. This time, I wanted to stamp him in grey ink, and use a cooler palette to compare. I love him just as much!

Head on over to my blog for lots of no-line coloring tips, and a few tricks I used for this card... pearblossompress.com

Thanks for stopping by today. I'll be back soon with another fun card to share. In the meantime, you can find me on Instagram, and in the Facebook Fan Page. See you there!

Enjoy Simple Pleasures!

Hello crafty friends! Kimberly here with The Rabbit Hole Designs to share a card I made featuring the Simple Things stamps set from the new release and the Corner Mandala Stencil. I just adore this Dapper Fella!

I cut out my first panel 4"x 5 1/4 from white cardstock. I took the Corner Mandala stencil and centered it at the top of the panel (I love that you can use it for more than just the corner).

I used my Cotton Tail blending brush to blend Bundled Sage Distress Oxide over the center of the stencil. I blended darker in the center to lighter toward the edges. From my stash, I added a black die cut word "Enjoy".

Next I stamped This little guy from Simple Things and colored him in with Copics {adding a little plaid design to his vest}.

Copics:
Cat: E41, E42, E43, R30
Vest E84, E87
Shirt: E81
Pants: E87, E89
Hat: E81, E84, E87
Bow Tie & Umbrella: R35, R39
Shoes: N1, N2, N5, N8
Cup: E40, E41, N2, N5, N8

I fussy cut him out and popped him up on foam tape. I stamped "#Simple Pleasures" from the set, popped it up with foam tape. Then I scattered a few embellishments to finish it off.

Thank you for stopping by!

Rainy Days!

Hi everyone! Von Marie here and I am so happy to be on the blog today. I have a card to share with you using a new stamp from the latest release!

Isn't this guy cute?? I love him. He's from the Simple Things Stamp Set. I chose to stamp and heat emboss him with Versafine black ink and Clear embossing powder onto Neenah Solar White cardstock 80lb. I then stamped him on masking paper and fussy cut it out to lay over him for some ink blending. I used Stormy Sky, and Chipped sapphire Distress Oxide ink to make my background using my Cotton Tail Blending brushes. I then used the Clouds in my Coffee Stencil for some subtle clouds using Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink. I spritz some drops of water and dried the excess with a paper towel. I then added some white paint splatters with a paint brush.

I then pulled off my masking paper and colored my guy with Copic Markers. I added white gel accents with my signo white gel pen, blue glitter enamel dots, and Nuvo Crystal Glaze to his glasses. I cut my panel to be slightly smaller than A2 size panel using my paper trimmer. I then stamped and heat embossed my sentiment onto kraft cardstock and cut it with my paper trimmer. I then added it with foam tape to my card panel. My panel was then added to a A2 card base. I hope you like my card. Thank you for stopping by!
