Exercise with Weird Science

Hello my crafty friends! Today I am up on The Rabbit Hole Designs Blog and today's card is featuring two of the newest releases.

The Caffeinated Giraffe with the Weird Science Stencil! For my feisty Giraffe, I wanted to paper piece his robe and slippers just to give him a little extra pop.

For the background, I used the weird science stencil using distress inks for more of a gradient look. I also heat embossed my sentiment on vellum! Happy Saturday!

Merry Christmas Kringle Style!

Hi everyone! Von Marie here and Today I have a Christmas Slimline card to share with you using the Newest Release.

I chose to use the New Back Alley Stencil with Red Foil over Red Cardstock. I love this stencil, it's perfect for you to use anytime. I also adore this Santa from the Kringle Stamp Set which was perfect for my card. I first stamped my Santa onto Sweet Sentiment cardstock and colored it in with my Copic Markers. I did use a white Prismacolor pencil for Santa's bead and white areas on his suit. I then cut it out with the Coordinating Kringle Die Set.

I stamped the banner from the Kringle Stamp Set and the sentiment and then cut it out with the coordinating die. I then cut my foiled stenciled piece out with a Slimline Die as well as pattern paper to match. I added my Santa and sentiment banner with foam tape and my slimline panel onto a slimline card base. Lastly, I added matching sequins. I hope you like my card. Thank you for stopping by!

Fearless!

Hey yall!  Tangii here, happy Wednesday & happy October!!  Where on earth has this year gone??  I can't believe it's October already!  This is Breast Cancer Awareness month, so while I remind you to please GET THEM SQUISHED! I'll also share a pink and pretty card using the new Back Alley stencil and the Fearless stamp set.

This was a quick and simple card.  First off I taped down a heart cut out "mask" and set it in place.  Once that was done I set my Back Alley stencil in place and blended in some Distress Ink with a Cotton Tail Blending Brush.

With the background done, I removed the stencil and mask.  I stamped the "Fearless" in a gray ink and the rest of the sentiment just below it.  The Ribbon was stamped in embossing ink and some pink glitter.  Finally I added a small smattering of various sequins.  This stencil was the perfect way to give me a great background that allowed my image and sentiments to still be the focus!

All of the items I linked in my post are available at The Rabbit Hole Designs.

You can also read about this card on my blog, here with links to the products I used, etc.  Thanks for popping by, come back again soon!

More Than Pink - a card for Breast Cancer Awareness

Hello my crafty friends!  Welcome to today's blog. October is Breast Cancer Awareness and I am using the Splish Splash stencil to add pink to the background behind the Fearless stamp set.

I stamped out the awareness ribbon  and the "More than pink" sentiment with Honeysuckle ink on a light grey cardstock. I fussy cut both out. I created a mask using a piece of paper with a circle die cut out of the middle. I used low tack purpled tape to secured it to a 4" x 5 1/4" Sea Glass cardstock. I added the Splish Splash stencil over the top of the circle opening.  I used Cracking Campfire, Picked Raspberry, an Spun Sugar Distress Oxide inks to  blend and create the design.  I rounded the corners and attached it to a piece of 4 1/8' x 5 3/8" light pink cardstock with rounded corners.  I attached this to an A2 Honeysuckle card base.  To complete the card I glued the awareness ribbon, seniment and sequins to the front of the card.

Here are The Rabbit Hole Design products used in this card:

At The Swimming Hole

Hi everyone! Lauren here today and I am sharing this card where this Rhino is still enjoying summer He's got his trunks on and is at the local swimming hole for some R & R.

To make this shaker card, I used the new Splish Splash stencil and also the Caffeinated Rhino stamp set. I love how the stamp set has the cute bird included.

I started with an A2 sized white cardstock panel. Using an oval die, I cut the swimming hole out of the bottom corner. Then onto a separate white panel, I blended Mermaid Lagoon Distress oxide ink over the stencil. This will be the back of the shaker.

Next, I  masked off a the stencil so I could create the splash coming out of the top of the pool using the same colour ink.

Then onto Copic friendly white cardstock, I stamped the rhino and 3 birds. I had to reverse stamp the last bird in order to get him facing the opposite way. To do this, I stamped the bird onto acetate then carefully placed white cardstock over that and applied pressure to transfer the image onto the card stock. Now I was ready to colour them then fussy cut them all out. The copics I used were:

Rhino: C0, C1, C2, C3 Eye:B24 Mug:Y00, Y06

Swim trunks:B00, BG01, BG06 stars:Y06

Birds: Yellow: YY00, Y06, Y17

          Blue: B00, BG01, B24

          Orange: C01, Y06, YR02, YR07

To create the shaker portion, I cut a piece of acetate so that it extended about .25" past the border of the pool. I adhered behind the pool using double sided tape. I then scored the acetate so it would fold at the same lines of the edges of the white cardstock panel.

I really wanted the rhino to look like he was standing in the swimming hole, so I decided to cut a slit in the acetate (with my exacto knife) so I could slip his legs through but no sequins could escape.

Once I had the rhino legs in, I placed double sided foam tape all along the rim of the pool. Then I put a bunch of sequins into the area I created. To seal up the shaker, I used the stenciled background I made and placed it on top of the foam tape making sure to get the panel right to the very corner of the acetate I had scored. Next I adhered the acetate onto the back of the stenciled panel.

I stamped the sentiment and bordered it with black cardstock. On the front, I adhered the sentiment, birds and placed double sided tape behind the portion of rhino sticking out of the pool. I backed the whole panel with blue card stock and adhered it to an A2 card base.

Finally, to finish the card off, I glued some sequins onto the front.

Thanks for visiting!

Clean and Simple Card Template

Hey crafty friend, Amanda from Pear Blossom Press here again. It's my youngest daughter's birthday today, but since she doesn't read this blog, I can share her card with you a little early. She is getting older, and more mature, so I opted for a clean and simple card design. It feels a bit more "grown up" and at age 14, that's important to her now. Plus, it was quick and easy!

I made a birthday card, but you can use this design as a template for other cards too. You'll want a pair of sentiments, one large, one small. A tiny image, like the candle is optional. Those create the focal point of your card. For the background, you'll want a nice stencil. That's where our color comes in, and it sets the tone of the card.

For my daughter's card, I started by blending pink and yellow ink through the new Splish Splash stencil from The Rabbit Hole designs. I didn't cover the whole panel, only part. The ink fades out and leaves plenty of clean, negative space. Next, I stamped and embossed CELEBRATE and three candles on the panel. I embossed them with clear powder to give them a raised, glossy finish. Just a hint of coloring on the candles makes them pop. Next, I trimmed the panel down and layered it onto a pink card base with foam tape. Then I popped the second sentiment up with more foam tape. To help the sub-sentiment stand out, it was embossed with white powder onto black cardstock and cut out with a fishtail banner. To finish the card, and add some shine, I topped each candle flame with a clear raindrop gem.

I really like the way this card turned out. If I were to make it again, I'd probably move the sentiments up about 2" and leave more of the white space of the background visible. What do you think of this clean and simple card template? Do you have stamps and stencils you can try it with? I'd love to see if you do! Tag me on social media, so I can cheer you on.

Speaking of social media, I finished up the stenciling video I was working on last week (altering pattern paper). You can watch it here...

Thanks for stopping by today. For links to the specific products I used, head on over to my blog. I'll be back soon with another fun card to share.

HELLO

Hello there and welcome to The Rabbit Hole Designs.

It's Kelly here and I am sharing a card featuring several products from the shop.

This card was so fun to make!

I started with Bristol paper and the new "Splish Splash" stencil.

I used Cotton Tail blending brushes with two shades of green ink for the "splashes" and I used a yellow ink with a dauber on the circle/dot parts. Once it was done, I loved it!  I decided to go big on this one and leave it the full 6x6 stencil size.  Cutting it would have been fine, but it'll be a striking BIG card for someone.  I set that aside and worked on the other elements.

I stamped, copic-colored and fussy cut the botanical from "Turtle Botanical".

Then I stamped the "Hello" from "Marque Words" with green ink .

I went back to the 6x6 panel, relayered it and carefully added neon yellow glitz gel with a paint brush.

Once it was all dry, I assembled it using foam to pop the botanical. I finished the flower off with glitter pen.
