Inspire, Imagine, Dream


We are bringing back our favorite projects this month here at TRHD! 


Good day everyone, Leah here with another fun project for The Rabbit Hole Designs, using the Succulent Life Stamp Set.


I have created this hexagon-shaped shadow box using the images and sentiments from the Succulent Life clear stamp set.  I watercolored them on 140lb watercolor paper and then fussy-cut them out.  I added them to some "stems" so that I could layer them over the background paper (which I added some ink to with the Triangle Mosaic Stencil) to add depth to the project.  I added some Spanish moss and enamel dots to finish it off.

Bunny Ballet Greeting Card

 Hello my crafty friends!  Have you had a chance to visit The Rabbit Hole Designs shop lately?  There are so many fun new stamps!  I am sharing this card with you today using the Bunny Ballet stamp set.

Succulent Life Notebook Cover

 

Hello everyone, Leah here to share my first ever The Rabbit Hole Designs project with you today!  I have used the newly released Succulent Life stamp set to create a notebook cover for my THRD notes :)

I colored the stamped image with my Copic markers and layered it over some washi tape and a scrap of linen.  For the background, I used the Triangle Mosaic Stencil with some inks over some patterned paper to give it some depth and interest.  I also stamped 3 of the sentiments from the stamp set.  The background patterned paper had some text on it, so the 3 sentiments I also stamped fit right in but are bold enough to stand out.  Perfect!

Golden Spring Floral Kitty

Hi Friends! Kelly here. Today I am using Spring Kitty illustrated by Tatsiana Zayats. for The Rabbit Hole Designs.
 I wanted to try something different so I stamped the image in Versamark ink & I used Gold Embossing powder on Neenah Desert storm cardstock BUT USED MY Cottontail Embossing tool 1ST of course! 
I took out my Sakura Moonlight Gelly Roll Pens. At 1st it looked streaky but then as it dried it smoothed out & looks incredible in person. So smooth & silky.
The pens I used were #444, #423,#424,#421,#424,#429 & #428.
These pens are opaque and so fun to use. 
After coloring I stamped my sentiment crooked so I re-stamped it on matching cardstock, die cut it out & I used a Gold Deco pen along the edges a d covered it up, lol.  I liked this look better anyway so it worked out. 
Then I die cut it with a stitched die and made a few mats with white & Desert Storm & mounted it all on top of the gold card base (which is poster board, lol) Hey, why not? Its gorgeous.  
I added some white gel pen and some baubles & done. 
I made this card in advance to send to my mom. She's moving soon & I have so much going on that unfortunately this will be my last blog with TRHD. I have enjoyed my time but unfortunately I've gotten hit with a few life struggles & im unable to have as much craft time as I did.

From OWL Of Us Card

Hey Everyone! Justin here, and today I'm sharing this fun creation using the new OWL-Right set, part of the Rabbit Hole Designs' March 2020 Release!

This little bunch of owl are so stinking cute, and I love that the possible color palettes to color them up are just endless. For today's card, I decided to throw a masculine color palette on them. Now, for me, this color palette could really be for anybody. When I create something that I want to give to a guy, I just make sure to not use any overly feminine themes.

First, I cut out a 4.125" x 5.375 panel and stamped my group of owls from OWL-Right in the lower center of the card. I colored the owls up using a red, denim and neutral gray color palette with my alcohol markers. Each owl only uses a 3 color blend for their feathers. Then I went in and added some details, such as a warm gray shadow underneath the lower row of owls, and light blue eyes for all of them that wash out to white towards the end.

Next, I wanted to use the set's sentiment "From OWL of us", because you can really use it for so many occasions: birthday, anniversary, retirement, congratulations, etc. However, I wanted to also use the Spell It Stencil to spell out "OWL" since I knew I would have the space. So, I lined up where my sentiment would fit, and carefully blended my O, W & L in red ink with a blending brush.

Tip for the Spell It Stencil: I'm sure that you've seen a lot of the Design Team and Rabbit Hole Crafters use the Spell It Stencil to spell things out on their projects, and one of the reasons why is that it is incredibly easy to do! Because the stencil is structured where each of the letters is broken into horizontal rows of lines, it's so easy to make sure that your letters are all lining up and not "wonky". For this card, I actually blended my "W" first, just to make sure it was centered. I then went in with my "O", finishing with my "L".

For the rest of my sentiment, I stamped out "From" and "of us" onto a navy blue strip of cardstock and heat embossed it with white powder. I cut the strips into small segments and mounted them to the card with foam tape.

To finish this card off, I adhered my white panel to an A2-sized navy cardstock panel, applied some red accents, let them dry, and mounted the card to an A2-sized card base!

Dance your heart out!

Hey everyone: it's Jammie here with a little inspiration post for you today.

I sat down at my desk to make this card and literally had NO IDEA what I wanted to make... so... I just went for it.  I grabbed the "You make my heart dance" stamp set and stamped it out using Momento Desert sand Ink onto Sweet Sentiment Coloring paper so that I could color in the "no lines" technique.  Then I just stared grabbing markers.

I use Copic markers, and in all honesty, I didn't write down the ones I used because I was literally just coloring for my mental health.  You know how it goes this time of year right?  You just wanna color or make something and not have to think about it.  So, that's exactly what I did!


I had so much fun making this little card.  Well, I suppose it's not little as it is a 5.5" x 5.5" square card, but you get the point. For the background I used the "Diamond Flower" stencil and Distress Oxide Inks.  I also added a ribbon and some Black Nuvo drops to complete the card and add a little dimension.

Stepping It Up With Colored Pencils




Hey crafty friends, it's Amanda from Pear Blossom Press again. Have you played with the new Put a Bow on It stamp set from The Rabbit Hole Designs yet? It is so pretty and offers a ton of coloring possibilities. After seeing Kathy Racoosin's take on it, I almost didn't want to post my first card with it.

This time around, I had an ace up my sleeve though. I stamped, embossed, and Copic colored my image. I fussy cut it with my ScanNCut and popped it up on a square kraft card base with foam tape (a coordinating die is available). A few scattered gems dressed the card up and it was basically finished. Then, I got on a plane to Florida and took it to Kathy's Coloring Challenge Road Trip class for some advice on how to step it up!

This first picture shows my image before I went to class...


I showed it to Kathy and she used a dark blue colored pencil to deepen the shadows on the blue bow in the center. She used more pressure near the black outlines and then soft squiggles and circles to blend the color out. You can see how much more dimension it has than the others.


Then it was my turn. I got to work on the other bows, adding some shading to the outside edges of the loops, as well as the centers and overlapping areas. I seem to have a heavier hand when it comes to blending so I lost some of the lightest highlight areas, or sweet spots, as Kathy calls them. I will continue to practice, but the additional shading makes a huge difference!
Kathy shares some fantastic tips and techniques in her classes. I took my first one with her in September. I still have lots of practice to do, but the second class was a great refresher and reminded me of tips I forgot about after the first one. Luckily, she will be sharing her coloring classes online soon! Keep an eye out for Kathy's Coloring Challenge Road Trip on Online Card Classes!

Overall, I'm much happier with the updated card. Now I will tell you, she recommends not embossing images because the raised edges keep you from getting your pencil tip all the way to the lines. The more I practiced on this image, the more I understood what she meant. So I'll be forgoing the embossing for a while to compare. Let me know what you think. Can you see the difference between the before and after?

Put a Bow on it...for Christmas!

Hey everyone, DT Jammie here with another awesome way to use the "Put a Bow On It" stamp set.  I love this set because it is super versatile and I can use it for nearly any holiday, and birthdays, and even sympathy.  Today, I've decided to use it for CHRISTMAS!!!!! Yup... check it out:


Pretty sure I used almost every G and YG marker that Copic has to offer, and if they had more, I'd likely have used those too!  But it was so fun to create this gradient of green bows!!!

Ruff Life

Hey, Hey!  What did you think of our inspiration hop and new goodies?  I sure had fun playing with them!  Well I have another card today using those now products.  


 I think this card says it all!  Life is rough before coffee, no matter what day of week it is!  The boxer and the sentiment get Oscar for sure, but that paper get's best supporting actor. LOL

 I made this card by:

  • Stamping my image on Copic friendly paper and coloring it with my Copics. I used my 0 blender to make the edges of the robe look fluffy like terry cloth. 
  • You'll notice that next, I used my gold gel pen to make his boxer shorts a bit sassy. 
  • After it was dry (not to smudge the gel pen), I fussy cut it out and put it aside. 
  • Next, I pulled out this DP from Echo Park and I die cut it using my Wonky Stitches die.  
  • I brushed the edges with a blue distress ink and then I adhered it to my base. 
  • Next, I cut the red CS and my white smaller.  I stamped the sentiment on my white and adhered that to the red, which I adhered to my DP. 
  • Lastly, I added my pooch into the scene with some foam tape. 
Here is one more look:




 So, do you love the latest release and all the caffeinated critters?  What is your fave stamp/set?  I am not sure I can chose.

Curiosity with Katie

Happy Saturday!  Happy to be here on a Saturday, my fave day of the week, drinking coffee and sharing papercrafts.  What more could a girl ask for?!

 So as we sprint into fall (it sure does feel that way to me), I have another fun Halloween card using the September release. 


I love the contrast of colors here and the sharpness of the edges and the background die.   I also love the embossing powder, Metalline Flame, and the sparkly enamel dots, they just complete the intense feel. 

Here's how I made it:
  • I started by stamping my image from the Hex Yeah set and colored it with my Copics.  I fussy cut it out and set it aside. 
  • Next I went about creating the layers.  I knew I wanted to use this die and make the color pop through the black, but I had to be careful about placement so that it didn't take away from her lovely orange dress.  
  • Once I had my layers and colored CS picked, I cut them to the size I wanted.  
  • I mounted my girl on top and set it aside. 
  • Next, I cut a black base.  On the base I stamped this sentiment from my stash with versamark ink and embossed with Metalline Flame embossing Powder from Wow.  I chose this color because it complimented the scene so well. 
  • I came back in and mounted my layers and dress on the card. 
  • Lastly, I added these sparkly enamel dots from Freckled Fawn.

Feline Fine- with Katie

Hey, Hey, Katie here today!  Let's see, what day is it?  Wednesday!  Oh wait, it is only Tuesday- lame, but Happy Almost Hump Day to you!  



Last week I had one for the dog lovers and today I have one for the cat lovers... with a teensy bit (literally) of dog too.  Hopefully this one makes someone feel a teensy bit better if they are under the weather. 



Here is how I made it: 
  • Started by stamping my cats and pups from Cattitude and Doggone on Copic Friendly paper. 
  • I die cut them out using my ScanNCut and colored them with my copics. 
  • For the dog, I paper pieced a bit of plaid paper for his scarf.
  • Next I die cut the blueprint die using a light shade of brown paper.  Then I mounted it on Kraft. 
  • I decided where I wanted to place each of my critters and then set them aside. 
  • I stamped the paws and the different bits of sentiment in the different grids based on where I wanted the pets. 
  • Lastly, I came back in and added my pets using foam tape. 
My biggest challenge with this card was the Tortoiseshell Kitty, but I think it turned out pretty good.  What do you think? Have you attempted this type of pet coloring? What was your technique and how did it turn out?

Cattitude by Martha Lucia

Hi there, Martha Lucia with you!
Today I have a fun project to share, a Cattitude Card that I made, using the recently released Cattitude Stamp Set.


Create this was very simple:
  1. Create the card base using Basic Black cardstock.
  2. Cut a second layer with Pacific Point cardstock.
  3. Create the third layer of the card using a embossing/cut folder. I am using the Moroccan View Cut and Emboss Folder from Spellbinders.
  4. Paste the embossed layer over the card base using double sided foam tape.
  5. Stamp the images from the Cattitude Stamp Set onto whisper white card stock. I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp the images.
  6. Color your cats with your favorite medium. I used Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers to colored mine.
  7. Fussy cut the images with scissors.
  8. Arrange the images over the decorated card base and paste them with double sided foam tape

Kitty Dreams with Katie

Happy Sunday!  Katie here with a fun Kitty card!


This scene makes me happy, it is so sweet.  I just returned from vacation, and I like to imagine this kitty is me.... dreaming of vacation again. :)  

Here is how I made it: 

  • I stamped this kitty from the Cattitude set and the bird from the Love You More set on Copic friendly paper.  I colored them both and fussy cut them out and set them aside. 
  • I cut a piece of light blue paper to 3.75 X 3.75.  I stamped some clouds from the Love you More set directly on the blue. then I added some white highlights. 
  • I die cut the flowers and grass scene builders and added them to the blue background.  
  • Next,  I added my kitty and added a bit more grass in front.  
  • Lastly, I mounted it all on a 4X4 notecard. 

 Here you can see the dimension. 


One more shot of the card from a different angle. This makes for a small but sweet notecard, perfect for most occasions.

Doggone Shaker Card by Martha Lucia

Happy Monday crafty friends, Martha Lucia here with you!

Today I have a fun project to share, Doggone Shaker Card that I made, of course, using the recently released Doggone Stamp Set.


 Create this was very simple:
  1. Emboss the front of your card base using a embossing folder of your preference.
  2. Create the pieces to make the shaker design. 
  3. Ink one of the small frames with the color that you prefer. I used Peacock Featers and Broken China Distress Ink and used my Clarity Brushes to apply the ink.
  4. Cut the stitched heart included on the same set of die cut from the inked layer.
  5. Cut a piece of clear sheets that cover the window created with the heart die cut and paste it over the window.
  6. Add some sprinkles under the clear window. 
  7. Paste double sided foam tape around the window and around all the borders of the scalloped frame and cover it with the second white piece. 
  8. Add the shaker piece to the embossed card base.
  9. Stamp your favorite dog from the Doggnone stamp set. I used one small and colored it Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. Paste partially over the clear window. To stamp the image, I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
  10. Finalize your card adding a stamped sentiment. I stamped one of the sentiments included on the stamp set Doggnone following the shape of one of the die cut tags included on the Favor Bag Die Creative Cut with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
