Just Ducky - Revisiting Our Rabbit Hole Designs Favorites of 2022

Hello my crafty friends!  It is time to revisit one of my favorite Rabbit Hole Designs projects of 2022.  Bait for it!...
Today we go back to my June 17, 2022 post and revisit this cute Rubber Ducky Fishing stamp set.  The punny sentiment is created using the Niccole Alphabets (both upper and lower case) die sets.  The Rubber Ducky is colored with alcohol markers to resemble a Mallard duck.

Popping in to say You're Roar-Some!

So,,,I might be a little obsessed with The Rabbit Hole Designs new No Lion stamp set (illustrated by Tatsiana Zayats.  Maybe it is because I am a Leo myself, or that my high school mascot was also the Lions.  Whatever it maybe, I do love coloring this guy.

The Lion is colored with Olo alcohol markers taking inspiration from a summer color palette.

Today's card also includes a couple of uses with the Amanda Hot Foil Coverplate.  I hot pink foiled the leaves onto a variegated watercolor printed cardstock.  I colored the leaves with light green alcohol marker and shaded them before cutting eight of them out.  I lightly spritzed a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" kraft cardstock and letter pressed the hot foil plate into it.  I colored these leaves in a slightly darker green also shading them.  I chose a horizontal line of leaves to fussy cut across the top of the paper and glued on some of the pink foiled leaves to create a card front..

I used a pull tab die, from my stash, to pop up the "You're Roar-Some!" sentiment from behind the card front.  It is secured onto a black A2 card base with double sided adhesive foam tape.  The pull tap is extended to its full length and the "Your Roar-some!" sentiment and leaves are glued to the top tab.  When you  push the tab back into place, the sentiment retracts behind the card front.  The lion image and die cut grass are glued into place completing the card

Good things come to those who bait!

Hello crafty friends! Welcome to today's the Rabbit Hole Designs blog.  Isn't this a sweet and punny card?  I created a pop up card and added my own sentiment, Good things come to theose who bait!  I am using the new Rubber Ducky Fishing stamp set.  It is a illustration created by artist Dustin Pike.
I usied the Niccole Uppercase and Lowercase Alphabet dies to die cut the sentiment words.  I die cut the words from a verigated water color printed cardstock.  You can see the colors gradually change as you read the sentiment. I wanted to match the color change in the background behind the Rubber Ducky-Fishing image.  You can see the word Bait matches the water in the ducky's background.
I used a tunel card base die to form the inital pop out background inside the card.  I added a narrow blue cardstock pop out in front of the tunnel base to create a waterline level.  This is where the Rubber Ducky - Fishing image is attached to.
I love coloring animal images to look like real life animals.  I Googled mallard ducks and colored the Rubber Ducky-Fishing stamp in the mallard likeness with my TriBlend alcohol markers.
This photo gives you a good look at the layers of the pop out of the background tunnel base with the Rubber Ducky - Fishing stamps set.

Gimme My Elixir! Interactive Pop-Up Card

Hello my crafty friend!  Today I am on the blog with Gimme my Elixir card featuring the fun and barely there Caffeinated Dragon!  I have him in pop up mode coming to the top of his castle when you open this interactive card card

The castle was created with printed paper pieces. Do you recognize the window shapes?  These are created using the small light bulbs from the Light Me Up Stencil.  They are the perfect shape, right?
I used a 85# dark blue cardstock for the card base, added the grass and drawbridge creating a moat around the castle. On the front of the card base, I use printed paper and die cut letters.

To color the dragon, I chose pinks red and golds from my TriBlend alcohol markers.  I start by coloring the dragon body with the lightest pink and then using a stippling/dotting technique. I add a graduation of lighter to darker pinks and red dots to create the shading. I love the stippling look.  Not only does it add an interesting look to the dragon,it give it almost scale like texture.  The wings and horns are colored in the yellow golds to give look smoother look.

Here are The Rabbit hole Design products used in this card:

I hope this inspires you to try the stippling/dotting technique on your next creation. Remember it does not have to be alcohol markers (that is my preference),  you can use any type of coloring medium such as colored pencils, watercolors, and other types of pigments to color your image.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog!
