Twisted Dino Sunshine Card

Hey Rabbit Hole Crafters! Justin here, and I'm back again with another card using some of my favorite The Rabbit Hole Designs Products!

This card uses the Caffeinated-Dino Stamp Set, along with the Twisted Sunshine Stencil!

I was inspired to make this card by all the colorful citrus fruits out there, and definitely wanted to use those colors with both my Dino and the stenciled background!

I always start with coloring up my image first with my alcohol markers. Because I was using the citrus colors of Green, Yellow and Orange, I wanted to use those colors for my dinosaur! So I made my dino green, his mug yellow, and his slippers orange. One item of the Caffeinated Critters I've had a lot of fun with is their eyes. I've really been trying to use a color you don't find anywhere else on the project, so their eye sticks out. For this guy, I went with a light blue!

After cutting my Caffeinated Dino out, I started to work on my background. I cut a piece of white cardstock down to 4" x 5.25. I adhered the Twisted Sunshine Stencil with a light tack adhesive so my stencil stayed in place. Next, I came up with a pattern for the order of my colors, just to add a bit of cohesiveness to the card instead of a random order.

I used a torn up post-it note to mask each individual partial circle, and used my blending brushes to blend the respective ink color. I then repeated until the entire panel was covered!

I used a stitched scalloped die to cut out a respective scalloped circle from a yellow wood-print paper. I adhered that to the center of my stenciled panel.

I matted my stenciled pattern on an A2-sized orange wood-print-patterned paper.

I trimmed down a sentiment strip on white cardstock, matted it with leftover yellow wood print paper, and stamped my sentiment in green.

I adhered my sentiment and dino on foam tape. To finish the project, I placed green and orange enamel dots for some extra embellishment. And that's how I made my card!

I used the following products to create this project:

Coffee is the new Black

Hello and welcome TRHD fans!  Shanna here today to share another adorable  card featuring the caffeinated critters from The Rabbit Hole Designs
The critter line is my favorite (no big secret there!!!) and I had so much fun combining a few trouble makers for this card!

I started by coloringstamping the Caffeinated Rabbit, Caffeinated Unicorn, and Caffeinated Dino in Versa Clair Nocturne ink on a 5x7 panel of bristol cardstock
Next I watercolored them all using my Zig Real Brush pens...I especially had fun individualizing their mugs!  That volcano still makes me giggle!!

Next I drew a light pencil line to guide my floor coloring, and watercolored it as well.
For the background I wanted a "line up" look, so I got handy with my ruler and drew lines every 1/4 inch.  Every fourth line I made slightly larger, and added height measurements.  Bring up the question...

"How tall are the critters!?!"

Lastly I added my sentiment.  I had a couple I liked, but decided to go with "Caffeine, because prison orange is not flattering" from the Perfectly Blended sentiment set.  It seemed all to appropriate for the scene!  I heat embossed it on black cardstock with white embossing powder.

That wraps up todays card, hope you all enjoyed it!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by! You can see more of my creations on my blog Caffeinated Craftiness, or be sure and follow my crafty adventures over on Instagram!
 See you all soon!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Good morning Rabbit Hole fans, I hope you're having a good week!
It just so happens that today is my 50th birthday so I thought it only
appropriate to make a birthday card.
I thought it would be fun to incorporate a bunch of the caffeinated
critters on my card.  Putting party hats on their heads just made
me laugh since they don't look like they are in a party mood.
It's been a rough week for me so it's kind of appropriate that these
guys aren't smiling.
All in all though I really like how the card came out, the rainbow
letters really stand out against the black and white background.
Here is a list of all the caffeinated critters used on my card:

Thanks for joining me today for my birthday, I hope you enjoyed
my card, these caffeinated critters really can be used for any
type of card you want to make..... just change up your sentiment.

Have a great day, I already am!

#deathbeforedecaf Light-Up Card

Hello my crafty friend, Amanda here from Pear Blossom Press. Today I've got a fun new light-up card featuring the Caffeinated Dino! I made it for my husband who roasts his own coffee; and man, is it delicious! But this card has a second reference that he will especially love. When we got married, we ordered a custom wedding band for him that incorporates a ring of dinosaur bone and another ring of meteorite. I'm not going to lie, I'm a little jealous. It's a cool ring. So how perfect is this card for him? Coffee, dinosaurs, and a meteorite! And to top it all off, the meteorite lights up so it looks like a ball of fire flying across the sky! He's going to love it!

So how did I make this card? Well, I'm glad you asked! I've got a video for you showing you the whole process right here...

Wasn't that easy? Have you made a light-up card before? I hope this inspires you to give it a try! And don't forget to hop on over to the shop to pick up a Caffeinated Dino of your own! While you're there, check out the Sofishticated set; it has an anglerfish that would be perfect for a light-up card! If you'd like links to any of the other products I used in today's card, hop on over to my blog for the sister article.

Thanks for stopping by. Let me know what you think of today's card down below, or find me in the Facebook group; I'm always popping in there. Until next time my friend, stay crafty!

I'm a T-Wreck Without My Caffeine

Hello The Rabbit Hole Designs fans!  Maria here on the blog with you.  April is almost here and do you know what is happening tomorrow down at the rabbit hole?  Tomorrow is the start of our April release and you will be seeing some AWESOME stamp sets and projects made by the entire design team.  Oh yeah, be prepared to ooohhh and aaaahhhh!  You definitely need to stay tuned!

For my project today, I am showcasing the adorable Caffeinated Dino 3x4 stamp set.   Here's what it looks like:

HERE'S HOW I MADE MY CARD:
  • Stamp the images on smooth white card stock and color the images in with Copic markers (or any coloring medium of your choice).
  • Die-cut the image with an electronic die-cutting machine or fussy cut with scissors.  I used my Brother Scan N Cut 2.
  • Cut an A2 size piece of Bristol smooth white card stock and use the geometric stencil to ink up the background.  I used Worn Lipstick and Antique Linen distress oxide inks.
  • Use the distress sprayer to spritz some water on the colored background and dab it dry with some paper towel.
  • Adhere the colored background on an A2 size side-fold card base.
  • Adhere the images on the card with either Nuvo liquid adhesive and foam adhesive.
  • Stamp the sentiment using Versafine Onyx black ink.

Here's a closer look:

I finished my design by using my Sakura white gel pen to add some dot details to my Dino and the coffee cup.  Here's another look:

ZomBEE with Katie

Happy Tuesday!  My week started out great and I hope yours did too!

Today I am sharing a card featuring the Caffeinated Bee set.

I know, it is a little about of season, but I think it is perfect setting for this ZomBEE.  Here is another view.

Here is what I did:
  • I started by coloring my bee with Copics make him look like a Zombee.  I colored the wings and coffee using a gold gel pen.  I cut him out and set him aside to work on my background.
  • I used various purple distress inks with my blending brushes to create the background.  you might see the subtle sunbeams from a stencil in the purple as well.  I did come in a with a little green and hexagon, but decided I didn't like it so immediately stopped.  I spritzed the background with water to make it splotchy.  I came in again with yellow distress ink and the sunbeam to set the spot for the bee.
  • I die cut this spooky foreground scene and put it on the background and then die cut them both with a deckle edge die.  I did the same with a darker purple layer to put behind this layer.
  • I stamped the bee on the background and then placed my colored bee on top using dimensionals.  I added little pearls for the antenna.
  • I stamped the sentiment from the Caffeinated Dino set on the purple layer.
  • I placed my layers together over the black CS.
Here is one more pic of the bee close up.

I hope you like my card today.

Caffeinated Critters Watercolor Background

Hey, everyone! It's Lynnea Hollendonner and I'm so excited about today's card! I've had it in my head for a while and I'm glad to finally get it out on paper! I love that there are now 7 different critters in the caffeinated line and I just had to use a bunch of them together! The #momlife sentiment from the Caffeinated Cat stamp set was the inspiration behind this card! I can just see this group of mom commiserating together about their daily struggles! Haha!

How - To

  • Stamp Caffeinated Flamingo, Crab, Bee, Cat, Dino, and Octopus onto a piece of watercolor cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black ink and heat emboss with clear powder.
  • Color with watercolor markers.
  • Add a flat wash of a light gray watercolor to the background.
  • Die cut panel with a stitched rectangle die.
  • Stamp and white heat emboss #momlife sentiment from the Caffeinated Cat stamp set three times and trim down into strips. Adhere strips with foam tape.
  • Add clear sparkle to the black sentiment strips and black Nuvo Crystal Drops above and below sentiment strips.
