Hoppy Holidays with Pop Up Box Card

Hi crafters and welcome back!  Joy here today with a fun pop up box card to continue the Christmas in July festivities.  I just knew when I saw the adorable stamp, Hoppy Holidays with its cute little holiday picks coming from the envelope, that it had to be a three dimensional project.  The best part is it is easy to create!

To make this card stamp the Hoppy Holidays main image 4 times and color it with your medium of choice.  In this example I colored them with Copic markers.  This does have a coordinating die, but in this case I used my cutting machine.  In addition to cutting out the colored image, I also cut it out onto solid paper to hide the marker bleed through.  This step is optional, but I think it gives it a cleaner presentation.

To construct the box for this card you will need to cut out 2 pieces of cardstock measuring 2in x 6.5inch and score them at 3 and 6 inches.  On each rectangle adhere the colored envelopes from Hoppy Holidays onto them and then adhere the flaps to each side forming a box.

My final step was to stamp and heat emboss the sentiment onto a banner.  A fun and easy tip for making a dimensional banner is to clip the chevron edges off and then pop up the center with foam tape.  This gives the illusion of ribbon tails.   Again, this is optional, but takes your card making to the next level.

I do hope you will give this card a try!

Rainbows Are My Camo

Hi and welcome back crafters!  Joy here, today with a caffeinated rainbow!  Who can resist a little rainbow with their coffee?  This little critter couldn't!  If you haven't guessed it by now, my project today features the Caffeinated Chameleon decked out in his rainbow suit!

I stamped the chameleon onto smooth cardstock and colored him with Copic markers in a reverse rainbow order.  When attempting to blend your rainbow colors it is still important to maintain your light sources and shadows.  I have found that using a toner gray helps maintain those shadows without having to work really hard at blending the darkest of shadows.

In addition to the Caffeinated Chameleon, I used the Amanda Stencil on my card.  The bottom layer is black cardstock with white ink blending and the top layer is white cardstock with black ink blending and both matted to define the edges.  To finish off my card, I heat embossed one of the sentiments from Caffeinated Chamelon.  I hope you will give it a try!

Easy Ink Blended Note Cards

Hello and welcome back crafters!  Joy here with two simple ink blended note cards to share with you today.  Do you ever find yourself needing a quick note card and never have one handy?  I'm finding that I have that exact same problem  In my opinion a little note can brighten someone's day, so I try to include one when returning casserole dishes, or when I borrow something from a neighbor, etc.  Which brings me to our project today!

I massed produced two designs using the Butterfly Stencil using an easy blend of two distress oxide inks.  I started out by cutting down 4x4inch squares and to blend my inks onto. On one design I heat embossed "hello you" by using two sentiments from the Butterfly Kiss stamp set and other, a sentiment from the Pretty in Peony stamp set.

In addition to the ink blending I added faux stitching with a white a gel pen.  On the the 5 inch square base, I added just bit of white ink to make the center panel pop.  These are super easy to reproduce and I hope you will give it a try!

Wherever You Go, Go With All Your Heart

Hi and welcome back, Joy here today with a quick card to share.   One of my favorite things to do is send cards, or Snail Mail to friends and family, so this little guy screamed my name!!!  Snail mail is a 2x3 inch stamp available in The Rabbit Hole Designs shop, and is so much fun to color.

Let's take a look...

My card today features a simple Copic scene where this little snail is the star of the show.  I stamped it with alcohol marker friendly ink and then colored it up.  But if you're like me, you love a clean crisp black outline, so placed my paper back into my repositioning tool and stamped it again with Versafine Clair Nocturne ink. I took it on step further and heat embossed it with clear powder.  The fun sentiment that I chose to compliment the snail, is from the Adventure Awaits stamp set.  To finish off my card I placed it onto an inked and embossed panel that I had previously made.

Okay, that wraps it up for me!

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful

Hi there and welcome back to the Rabbit Hole Designs!  Joy here, sharing a fun shaker card today with the cutes hippo I've ever seen!  Call me crazy, but I love hippos, and if I could I would have one for a pet, but I will settle for this darling girl!

I had so much fun creating this card, and with the new Double Thick Clear Foam Tape, which makes creating shakers even easier!  This tape has the perfect depth to add shaker bits without them getting stuck. It is wonderful because it doesn't show under your layers, showing that ugly white shadow and is a game changer!

To create this card I used the Hippo Botanical stamp set and the Amanda Stencil which pair well together.  I blended Distress Oxide inks in the colors of Tumbled Glass, Cracked Pistachio, and Evergreen Bough using Cotton Tail Blending brushes to create an even gradient of color for the background.  I stamped the hippo image is colored with Copics and then fussy cut out to mount on the shaker frame.

Okay I just have to show you an example of the amazing clear tape

Okay I think this wraps it up for me.  You can find the entire line from The Rabbit Hole Designs HERE!

Sending Sandy Hugs

Hi and welcome back, Joy here today sharing some sandy goodness with you.  I love everything about fun in the sun, and the Beachin' stamp set brings me so much happiness.  I couldn't wait to color this beautiful stamp, and I think you will love it too!   I can almost feel the sand between my toes!!!!

Beachin' measure 4 x8 inches, so it lends itself well for slimline cards, so I went with it.  I stamped it in Memento ink as I wanted to color it with Copic markers.  I chose tropical colors to make the images pop, and warm grays for the sand to add contrast.  The only embellishing I added to my card was clear heat embossing to the sentiment and white gel pen to highlight areas. This clean and simple design is easy to recreate. I hope you will give it a try!

I had so much fun creating this card, and I hope it inspires you to create something special today!  You can follow the link HERE to see the entire line from The Rabbit Hole Designs.
