The Hat Makes the Outfit by Niccole

Hello everyone!

It's Niccole from Nic & Viv Designs back again to share another card I made using one of The Rabbit Hole Designs stamp sets.

For today's card I used the Hex Yeah & Boo to You stamp sets.

How to create this card:

  • Black A2 card base
  • Added purple layer
  • Added my white layer with the sentiment from Hex Yeah
  • Stamped the Hat from Boo To You set.
  • Copic colored the image
  • Fussy cut the hat out because I didn't want to use the cat in the image
  • Raised the hat up with foam tape for dimension
  • Added orange Nuvo Drops randomly
Here is one more picture of the full card ...

This top folding 4.25 x 5.5 card was easy to make and I used some simple card making techniques.

  • Black heat emboss the lovely legs stamp on a 4.25 x 5.5 card stock.
  • Make a mask for the stamp. I used SSS masking paper. Fussy cut and apply to the stamp.
  • I used the Fluffy Cloud die from Sunny Studios and made my own "border stencil" to mimic clouds in the sky.
  • Purple and pink Distress oxides help give the clouds that "fluffy" look.
  • Cut the colored skies card stock at an angle with the Fluffy Cloud die.
  • Remove the mask and color the stamp. I used Copics. (Disclaimer: I have heard that coloring heat embossed images with Copics is a no-no because it destroys the nibs.)
  • Stamp the sentiment with Versfine Black Onyx in the right corner of the top folding card.
  • Randomly stamp bats with the same ink.
  • Attach the colored card stock to the card base with double sided tape or liquid adhesive.

Easy techniques but quite a dramatic result!

Thanks Card & a Farewell

Hello The Rabbit Hole Designs fans!  It's Maria back on the blog with you today with a Thank You card showcasing the Pretty in Peony stamp set.

Before I give you the details on how I made my card, this is to let you all know that this is going to be my last post as a DT member for The Rabbit Hole Designs.  My schedule has been really crazy lately and I am trying to cut back on commitments.  I have thoroughly enjoyed being on this journey with MaryAnn Samuelson and Heather Ferguson (co-owners of TRHD) with the rest of the design team members.  This "thank you card is for you guys!

Here's my card:

To begin, I stamped the images on some Neenah solar white card stock using Pale Fig and Spring Meadow Harmony Inks by Spectrum Noir.  I lightly colored the image with my Hydrangea and Citrus Green TriBlend markers.   To create softer colors, I used my alcohol blender so that some parts looked like they are colored with watercolors.

I also stamped the flowers and leaves using Spectrum Noir watermark ink and sprinkled this with white embossing powder.  I heat-set the images using my heating tool.  I fussy-cut the images with my precision scissors.

I die-cut another piece of white card stock using a die from my stash.  I foam-mounted this piece on my colored background.

I adhered the leaves and the small flower with some liquid adhesive.  I also layered the main flower with some liquid and foam adhesive to create more texture and dimension.

Lastly, I die-cut the word "thanks" using a die from my stash on some black card stock, and the shadow with some vellum.  I adhered this piece on my card.

Here's a little close-up:

I would like to thank MaryAnn and Heather for being the most wonderful lady bosses ever!  I had a great time designing for you guys from the very beginning, and I only wish you both greatest success in the future.   I also would like to thank the rest of the design team for being so supportive of me.  You guys rock!

I hope you like my card today and got inspired.  If you are looking for further details about my project including supplies used, I would be so grateful if you can stop by my blog today at:

Caffeine Saves Lives

Hello again Rabbit Hole fans!
It's Lisa back on the blog with you today and I have a short story to share with you.
I recently acquired the Caffeinated Shark stamp
and die and I'm so glad I did! Did you ever not order a stamp because you thought
you wouldn't use it and then see it used on a card and you're sorry you didn't order it?
Well a good purple haired friend of mine calls it FOMO...….
Now for those of you who don't know what that means (I certainly did not)
It means "fear of missing out".....
Well, I'm not missing out anymore, now little sharky is mine and I'm so glad he is!
I really have to start training myself to look at craft supplies in a different way
and see the potential in them.
Ok enough rambling for now, on to my card!
Card Recipe
1)  I usually start by stamping my image with some Copic friendly ink
and coloring with my Copic markers. I loved coloring sharky with my "W"
markers and giving him some fun spots along the way. I used the matching
die to cut him out after he was colored.
2) I covered my card base with some fun water themed patterned paper as a
background for my card.
3) My bubbly frame die cut was the perfect layer over the patterned paper
for little sharky and his fish friends.
4) I stamped the super funny sentiment from Perfectly Blended and
cut it in half.  I then inked the edges of the 2 sentiment strips in blue
to match the card.
5) I foam mounted the fish, sentiment and shark on the card and I'm
picturing the fish being scared of sharky and that the
caffeine is saving THEIR lives! 🤣🤣🤣

Here are the two Rabbit Hole stamp sets I used for today's card:

CAFFEINATED: Shark Clear Stamp 3x4
Caffeinated Shark
Perfectly Blended Clear Stamp 4x6
Perfectly Blended

Humboldt Spinner with Katie

Hello there!  Happy Friday!

Today I have a fun card inspired by nature.  My daughter loves wildlife shows and cartoons that have to do with wildlife.  So we watched a show about Humboldt Squid and that is what inspired this card.  Humboldt are known for their bioluminescence and flashing red and white while hunting.  I used blue in my card instead of white, as I thought it was a better contrast.

How I made this card:
  • I started by cutting my blue cardstock 8.5 X 5.5.  I scored it at 4.25 inches.
  • Next, I stamped this background ocean stamp on all sides with Stormy Sky Distress Ink.
  • After that, I scored the card at 2.125 to make it a Z-fold card.
  • Then, I used a circle die cut and cut half of a circle form the Z portion of the card.
  • I die cut the same sized circle from white cardstock and used the distress ink to color it. I adhered it to the card base so it lined up with half circle die cut.
  • On a bit of Navy CS, I embossed the sentiment with platinum embossing powder and used foam tape to mount it on the card.
  • I stamped one squid from the Inky set and colored it using red and pink Copics.
  • I mirror stamped another squid, made it a little darker with my Copic friendly liner pen and colored it with blue Copics.
  • I colored the edges of both images with my black liner and added some black to the back as well in case they didn't perfectly line up.
  • I used mono adhesive on both squids.  I also added some extremely sticky double sided tape along the middle of the image and then added some fishing line down the middle.
  • I ran the line down the edge in the z fold and taped it down so it was taught, then I used liquid glue (Glossy Accents) to ensure it held tight and trimmed the ends.

Here is a close up of the blue side:

So I do NOT do videos, BUT, I tried to capture what it would look like to see the spinner.

Well I hope you enjoyed this creation today.  You are welcome to visit my blog for a full list of supplies.

Doggone it! I fur-got!

Hello everyone! It's Amanda W. taking over today with a super fun belated birthday card using Doggone!

Here's how I did it.
  • Stamped, colored and cut the pups from Doggone and set them aside.
  • Die cut the back panel, masked and inked it for dirt, grass and sky. Then reversed the masking and stamped the paws and bones around the edge.
  • I added it to a card base and popped the pups up with foam squares.
  • Last I heat embossed my sentiment and cut it into strips. I adhered them with foam strips.

I have so many dog lovers in my life I just might have to "fur-get" a birthday so I can use this. Ha! Ha!
