Hive got news!

Hello my crafty friends. Welcome to today's The Rabbit Hole Designs blog.  I love this fun little retro scene.  These two best bee friends are engaged in conversation at their favorite hive hang out.

I am using the Peaceful Bee, the Sunny Days & Rainbows and the Blended Sentiments 2 stamp sets to create this best friends card!  The new bees sets are illustrated by Agota Pop. I also used the retired Coffee Shop Background stamp.

I colored the images with OLO Markers.  Be background is colored in retro pink, mint green, teal, and yellow colors.

Here are the colors for the bees:

N = C-G0, C-G3, and C-G7 for the bee stripes and head
O = Y1.2, Y2.0, andYO2.3 for the bee stripes and head
P = B2.0,  R5.1,  BV2.0 for the bee wings
Q = I colored the arms, legs and bee eyes a bit darker using a black finepoint pen

Better Latte than never

Hey y'all!  Happy, happy weekend!! Tangii here with another goodie from the November release.  For today's share I made a gift tag with the Caffeinated Llama, the coordinating die and a sentiment from the Blended Sentiments 2 set.
This tag was simple.  This is one of those times when I really appreciate coordinating dies!  They make something like this tag so much quicker and easier to put together!  I stamped, colored and die cut my Llama. Added a sentiment, a few enamel dots and some ribbon... voila!

You can also read about this card on my blog, here with links to the products I used, etc.  Thanks for popping by, come back again soon!

Sip, Sip, Ahh!

Welcome. Lauren here today with this coffee loving bunny card. I love the smell of coffee and that first sip in the morning is pure heaven. I thought that the expression on this bunny from the Je t'aime stamp set reflects exactly how I feel about the smell of coffee first thing in the morning. Yum! I put this cutie into the brand new Coffee Shop Background to make this sweet card.

I started out by inking up and stamping just this one bunny from the stamp set onto white cardstock. I also stamped and fussy cut a mask for her using masking paper.

I placed the mask over the stamped bunny, then positioned the Coffee Shop Background stamp so the coffee cup would be directly below the bunny's nose. I made sure that I inked only the part of the stamp I wanted to show up on my panel.

I removed the bunny mask and colored the stamped images using Prisma color pencils. I also stamped my sentiment above the counter in black ink. On separate white cardstock, I stamped, colored and fussy cut a couple of hearts. Then I adhered them above the bunny's nose.

Next, I created an embossed background for my coffee shop scene to sit on. I first prepared an A2 (4,25x5.5") black cardstock panel with the Cottontail Embossing Powder tool. This virtually eliminates stray embossing powder from sticking where you do not want it to. Then, I used embossing ink to stamp the small coffee bean from the Blended sentiments set and one of the hearts included in the Je t'aime set randomly over the cardstock panel. I covered the stamped areas with white embossing powder, returned the excess to my container, then heat set it. I trimmed this down a little so that a border of white card base would show once I adhered it.

I cut my coffee shop scene to my desired size, adhered a piece of self adhesive white foam sheet the same size and adhered it to my embossed background.

Adulting is Hard

Hello everyone it's Lauren here on the blog today. When I saw this Caffeinated Parrot stamp set I knew I had to have it! So hilarious. I love how one of his eyes is partially closed!

Today's card was created with my oldest son in mind and I cannot wait to give it to him! He would love to own a McCaw someday so I colored up this guy as a Blue and Gold McCaw.

I started this card by stamping the parrot image onto watercolor paper. I then colored the image using Derwent Inktense pencils. I love these water coloring pencils because they dry like ink so there is very little bleeding.

I then used the Clouds In My Coffee stencil to create tops of trees to resemble a jungle. I placed the stencil in the position I wanted then traced it with my pencil. I did that with all the tree layers, then did the coloring. Making sure to alter the shades of green so that they wouldn't look like all one tree.

When I colored the tree layers I also made sure that the layer next to the one I was about to color was dry before I colored it. That keeps the colors from running  together and mixing.

Then I finished off the coloring on the parrot. On the coffee cup I wrote "Tims" to stand for Tim Hortons, our favorite coffee place in Canada.

For the sky, I lightly swept Mermaid Lagoon distress oxide across the top above the trees. When dry I stamped my sentiment. This one is from the Blended Sentiments 2 set.

Finally, I trimmed the panel down using a stitched rectangle die from my stash, backed it with a 4.25x5.5 blue cardstock panel then adhered to my A2 top folding card base.

I am so happy with how this card turned out and I know my son is going to love it! Thanks so much for visiting! Have a great day.
Lauren

Tea-Rex!

 Hi everyone! Von Marie here and I am so happy to be on the blog today. The Rabbit Hole Designs has a New Mini Release Today. I am so excited! I hope you'll check it out! There is 1 New Stencil and 1 New Stamp set. The New Mini stamp set is called Tea-Rex and The New Stencil is called Intersection Stencil.

Tea-Rex

Intersection Stencil

So much cuteness! I chose to foil the New stencil Intersection with Purple foil over lavender textured cardstock. I used The Deco Foil transfer Gel Duo and when it was dry I ran it through my die cutting machine. I then cut it out with a stitched rectangle. I stamped this cutie Tea-Rex onto Neenah Solar White paper with black hybrid ink and colored him in with my Altenew Artist Markers. I fussy cut him out. I think he's adorable in that teacup. I used a stitched teacup die and cut it out with white cardstock and ink blended with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide ink using the new stencil and my Cotton Tail Blending Brush.

I added the teacup diecut onto my foiled rectangle and then added my image with foam tape. I also placed a tea bag diecut with a foam square and twine. I colored the heart to match and ink blended the sides of it too. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with Versafine ink and clear embossing powder using Blended Sentiments 2. I cut it into a fishtail banner and glued it to my panel. Lastly, I added white gel accents, flowers, and stickles. My panel was then added to a A2 Card Base. I hope you like my card and the New Release! Thank you for stopping by!

Because Adulting Is So Hard!!! - coffee card

Hello my crafty friends and welcome to The Rabbit Hole Designs blog.  Let's take a break for ADULTING!  Who's with me?  Somedays you just want a break from all the responsibilities, don't you agree?

Today I am sharing a simple card created with the Chain Mail stencil and the Blended Sentiments 2 stamp set.  I love the sharp look of this stencil blended with Pine Needles and Festive Berries Distress Oxide Inks and the Cotton Tail Blending Brushes. (Do you spy those fun colored clips on my Cotton Tail Blending Brushes?  They are from Make It By Marko - check out her store on Etsy)

I used Pixie Spray (a low tack adhesive spray) to attach the Chain Mail stencil to a piece of sage colored cardstock  and blended the two Distress Oxide inks creating this festive background.  I used a coffee cup die from my craft stash and die cut a cup shape.  I shaded the cup with alcohol markers to give it some depth.  I grabbed a holiday "falalala" sentiment to stamp across the cup.  It goes perfect with the "Well Latte-da!" sentiment from the Blended Sentiments 2 stamp set.  I distressed a piece of 4" x 5 1/4" kraft cardstock to look like coffee stains and drips to create the background for the card.  I stamped the "Caffeine: Because adulting is hard" sentiment, also from the Blended Sentiments 2 stamp set, at the top of the coffee stained card front.  I attached it to a white A2 card base and mounted the Chain Mail coffee cup using double sided adhesive foam tape finishing the card.

I hope you enjoyed this fun sassy coffee card featuring the Blended Sentiments 2 stamps set and the Chain Mail stencil.

Make sure to take advantage of the Black Friday/Cyber Monday savings before they expire!

My favorite way to destress form adulting is to go on a long drive taking the country highways!  I love to get lost in the scenery around me.    I love hearing from you. Tell me your favorite what to destress from adulting?

Caffeinate & Create my friends

Hey yall!  Happy weekend!  I have a fun stencil & sentiment card for you today!  I used the Pinwheel Stencil, the Blended Sentiments 2 set and, of course, our Cotton Tail Blending brushes.  I started with some pale pink Distress Ink all over my base piece.  I don't typically like the ink "uniform" looking so it's lighter in some places than others.  Then I went over the edges (with the stencil still in place) with some medium brown Oxide ink.

I randomly added a few of the smaller coffee beans from the sentiment set.  I chose a few sentiments that I wanted to use and stamped them in a darker brown ink, adding a little of the medium brown around the edges.  Those pieces are popped up on the base.  Just to add a little more texture, etc.  I added a crinkle ribbon/button at the top.

All of the items I linked in my post are available at The Rabbit Hole Designs.

You can also read about this card on my blog, here with links to the products I used, etc.  Thanks for popping by, come back again soon!

Birthday SHAKER card

 HELLO!  It's Kelly here. Today I am sharing a shaker card I made using one of the newest caffeinated critters by The Rabbit Hole Designs, "Caffeinated Parrot" with a sentiment from "Blended Sentiments 2".

I started this card by inking a piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Distress Oxide inks with Cotton Tail Blending Brushes.  I set that to dry and then I stamped the parrot, colored him with matching Copics and cut him out.

I used a circle die to cut the shaker window and strategically stamped the coffee symbol in blue ink on the background panel.  I then built the shaker elements.

I embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock and adhered the Parrot on the front. I added a bit of shimmer pen to his feathers and gloss to the cup.

**Hi Guys! I'm so excited because The Rabbit Hole Designs is a Super Sponsor for the Coffee Lovers Fall/Winter Blog Hop! To Celebrate, TRHD is offering 10% off on caffeinated images. Use coupon code CAFFEINE. Happy Shopping**

In celebration of all things caffeine, I have a card with you today featuring the Blended Stentiments 2 Stamp set from the November 2020 Release at The Rabbit Hole Designs

This card was relatively simple to create in design but packs a beautiful glittery punch!

For this card I started with an A2 size panel of white cardstock. I used the Splish Splash Stencil from the October release and applied some glitz glitter gel through it directly onto the panel. I used two different colors and I love the parts where the two blended together.

While the panel was drying I got to work on the sentiment. I chose one from the new amazing Blended Sentiments 2 stamp set. I adore this sentiment set and I know that I will be using it a ton in the future. I stamped and white heat embossed one of the sentiments on some black cardstock. To assemble the card I simply attached the panel to an A2 size card base and popped the amazing sentiment strip up in the the middle with some foam tape, added some embellishments, and that finishes my card today!

 I hope you enjoyed my card today! Be sure to check out all the items from the new release as well as all the other fabulous products that The Rabbit Hole Designs carries. You can follow this link HERE to see their whole product line.
