The Debonair Cat


This cat never fails to make me smile! I love everything about him from his cute bowler hat down to his adorable teeny paws. He is the most suave cat I know so I was positive he could pull off a pair of red glasses and bow tie and do it with with flair!

To create my charming card, I first stamped the cat image onto white cardstock using fade out ink for no line coloring. I then colored him up using Prismacolor pencils. Colors I used were:
Cat: Warm Gray, 10%, 20%, 30%. 50% for whiskers, nose, mouth and chin
Glasses, bow tie and umbrella: Poppy Red, Crimson Red and Tuscan Red
Hat and vest: Sienna Brown, Chestnut, Dark Brown then Metallic gold for button
Pants: Light Umber, Dark Umber and Chocolate
Book: Cool Gray 50%, 90% and White
Umbrella handle: Dark Umber, Black and White
Coffee cup: Cool Gray 10%, 50% and Seashell Pink


Once I had him all colored and ready to go, I used a scalloped, stitched circle die to cut him out.

Since he is prepared for wet weather, I decided to give him a watery background. I inked Speckled Egg Distress oxide ink through the Splish Splash stencil onto white cardstock. I then trimmed that down using an A2 sized wonky stitched die from my stash and adhered it to a top folding A2 card base.

I then added double sided foam tape to the back of my dapper cat and adhered him to the front of the card.

A Happy Easter Card!

 Hi everyone! Von Marie here and I am so happy to be on the blog today! I have a card to share with you using the newest products from the latest release!


I used the Corner Mandala Stencil and 1 Line Happy Easter Stamp Set for my card today. I first started out with Neenah 80lb Desert Storm cardstock. I laid my stencil down and ink blended first using Cracked Pistachio, Ground Expresso, Hickory Smoke, and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks with my Cotton Tail Blending Brushes. When it was dry I splattered green and gold metallic watercolors on my panel. I cut out my panel with a stitched A2 die. I turned my panel around, I liked this version better than the way I first intended to use this panel .


I then heat embossed my bunny with Versafine ink and clear embossing powder onto some Neenah 80lb cardstock. I colored the bunny in with some Prismacolor Colored Pencils and fussy cut it out. I cut out a circle with some of the cardstock I had left over from my ink blending. I glued my panel onto a A2 heavy weight card base with liquid glue and added my circle and bunny. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment from the 1 Line Happy Easter stamp set onto a banner diecut. I then added it onto my card front. Lastly, I added sequins, white gel accents, and a twine bow. 1 Layer Card featuring Happy Easter

 Hello my crafty friends, Today I put together this 1 layer card using a technique I learned from our very Jenn Gross!



For the background, I used believe it or not shaving cream with a few alcohol inks. I have really fallen in love with this technique. I used the 1 Line Happy Easter 2x6 Stamp set. I love how this paired with such a soft background!



I love the simplicity of this stamp set it goes so great with any type of background. This is my favorite type of font it just adds that little extra to a card, This would be great for kids you could stamp this on watercolor paper and send a set of paints so they could color in the bunny. So many possibilities with this set!

Missing You Always

 Hi TRHD Fans! I have a fun card to share today featuring the awesome Corner Mandala Stencil  from the February release at The Rabbit Hole Designs!


For this design I used shimmer powders with this awesome new stencil. I sprayed some pixie spray on the back of the stencil to temporarily hold it down on the paper. 



I carefully tapped out little bits of the shimmer powder across the panel in the openings of the stencil. Then I spritzed it with a water bottle to really activate the powder and let it spread around the panel. I sopped up some of the extra water with a paper towel before I removed the stencil. It's hard to see in the picture but there is a beautiful shimmer in these pigments. 

I chose a sentiment from a different older set by TRHD called Space - Miss You. I stamped that on some colored cardstock that matched the design and die cut them out with fancy circle dies. I popped the sentiment up on the panel and attached the panel to the card base and that's it.

Distress Glazed Mandala with Caffeinated Rhino

 Hello crafty friends! Kimberly here with The Rabbit Hole Designs! My card today pairs the recently released Corner Mandala and an older favorite of mine, Caffeinated Rhino. I just love how well they go together! 

I started making the background by lightly blending Speckled Egg and Pumice Stone Distress Oxides on watercolor paper using my Cotton Tail Blending Brushes. Then I put the stencil on the blended cardstock and blended Distress Glaze over some areas of the stencil (this is a resist glaze so ink will not stick to it). 


After I blended the distress glaze, I sprayed over the stencil with Pumice Stone Distress Spray. I dabbed off the excess ink before taking off the stencil to prevent too much leaking under the stencil. Then I stamped my Caffeinated Rhino on a smaller piece of watercolor paper with Ranger Archival ink. I used my distress inks to watercolor in my Rhino and the bird. Then I die cut them using the Caffeinated Rhino die. I also die cut a "shadow" for the rhino with grey cardstock just to add a little bit of color behind him. I used the sentiment from the stamp set by embossing it with white embossing powder on black cardstock. Once I had all of my pieces as you see here:


... I began to build my card. I cut down the Background to 5 1/4" x 4" and added that to a piece of grey cardstock. Then I glued my rhino slightly staggered off the grey rhino "shadow" and added foam tape behind him to pop him up. I glued the little bird to the tip of his horn and added a tiny piece of foam tape behind it as well. I attached the sentiment to the bottom of the card and used that as a ground for the Rhino to "stand" on so he didn't look like he was floating in air. Finally, I attached this to a white card base. I just love the soft colors!
