Under the Sea- With Katie

Happy Tuesday!  Always happy to be here on The Rabbit Hole Designs blog AND thrilled when you visit.  I have something a little....fishy for you today. ;)

Before we get started, a little octopus joke for you- Q: Who held the baby octopus for a ransom?  I will let you ponder that, the answer is at the bottom of this post. 🐙

This card is so fun because it is a circle swing card.  I love the paper backdrop and the vegetation dies.  The paper has dogfish on it and dogfish eat octupus, so I like to imagine she is hiding out until she get's enough caffeine in her system.

Here is how I made it:
  • First I cut the card base, which is a Circle Swing Die from Crafter's Companion.  Next, I cut the DP to fit.
  • After I had the base I die cut the seaweed and coral using IO dies with various greens and orange and placed them on the scene.
  • I stamped the Caffeinated Octopus imaged on Copic friendly paper and colored it.  Then I used my white gel pen to add highlights to the image.
  • I cute the image out using my Scan 'n Cut and used foam squares to place it on my scene.
  • On the reverse side of the circle, I stamped a sentiment (not from this set, from another set in my stash) and the chemical formula for coffee.

The gel pen was perfect around the tentacles because it makes them look like real suckers.  That was NOT an insult, lol.

This card was really fun to make, I love the shape and the grumpy octopus with the sentiment.  A little pick me up for a friend.  I hope you enjoyed it to and I appreciate your visit today.  You are always welcome to visit me at my blog- KB.Stamps

Oh PS. the answer to the joke- A: Squidnappers.  Have a great, caffeinated day!
